Hi! We’re Jessica (29) and Rubí (31), two easygoing but career-driven professionals looking for a new roommate to join us in renewing our lease starting January 1 for our sunny West Harlem apartment.

Rent is $1325/mo, and security deposit is $1284 (paid directly to the current roommate who is moving out). Internet is $35 pp/mo, and utilities are typically $25-35 pp/mo.

We’re starting the roomie search early to account for people’s travel and holiday plans in the last few months of the year.

We share the space with Opal the kitty 🐾, so you’ll need to be cool with furry friends (she’s very affectionate, even with strangers) — but sorry, no additional pets.

💡 Who We’re Looking For
We’d love someone who…
- Is a team player – helps keep the apartment running smoothly (chores, supplies, occasionally helping with cat-sitting, pitching in during the occasional apartment hiccup).
- Communicates openly – especially about any life changes (work, relationships, moving plans, etc.) that could affect the apartment. We like to be kept in the loop so we’re never caught off guard.
- Has goals – whether that’s career, creative projects, or just building a good life in the city.
- Works hybrid or in-office – Jessica already works from home full-time, so we can’t have two people home all day, every day.
- Keeps things tidy – NYC is messy enough outside; we like to keep the apartment clean and welcoming.
- Respects the vibe – friends, family, and partners are totally fine, and FWBs are cool too, but no one-nighters or randos crashing at the apartment.
- Balances social energy – we enjoy chatting and hanging out sometimes, but also value alone time and keeping the apartment a calm space.

👋 About Us
- Jessica (29): Born and raised native New Yorker, figuring out her next move. I studied Psychology at Queens College, then spent time living in 5 different countries (including studying abroad in Spain and Amsterdam). These days, I work in marketing and executive assistant services from home, and occasionally travel for work. When I’m not working, you can usually find me at the movies, cooking up something new, playing sports, hanging at a spa, writing, reading, traveling for fun, or getting way too competitive over a puzzle.
- Rubí (31): Grew up in Atlanta and have lived in NYC for a decade. I’m a cat mom, a lawyer, out and proud, and care about social justice. I enjoy spending time with friends any time I can, discovering new music, good food, exploring new corners of the city, going to the movies, weightlifting, drawing, and traveling (I recently did a solo road trip around PR!).
- And of course, Opal the kitty 🐾 — the real queen of the apartment. She’s sweet, affectionate, dramatic, confident, and will definitely supervise your chores.
