[ROOM] Huge Fidi bedroom, doorman building $2,500
Hi! I'm looking for a roommate for my apartment at 130 Water Street in FiDi, ideally beginning August 1. You would be approved by the landlord/building as an occupant through the end of July 2027.
The available bedroom is unusually large for Manhattan – approximately 11' × 19'4" – in a converted two-bedroom apartment with a shared kitchen/dining area and one bathroom.
The bedroom
The room is genuinely huge. My current roommate has a large bed, two desks, and multiple display/storage units holding hundreds of collectibles, and there is still plenty of open floor space.
• Three wall-to-wall windows
• Large closet
• Individually controlled heating/AC unit
• Hardwood floors
• Can be rented unfurnished, or you can purchase the bed/bed frame and some other items from the current occupant
The apartment / building
The apartment is approximately 800 sq. ft.
• Full kitchen with dishwasher and plenty of counter space
• Shared bathroom with a full bathtub
• Lots of additional closet space in entry hallway for luggage, shoes, longer-term storage etc.
The building has:
• Laundry rooms on multiple floors
• 24/7 doorman to receive packages and building access
• Elevators
• Live-in superintendent
Location / transit
The location is one of the best parts of the apartment. The building is at Water and Pine, one block from the East River waterfront and very close to the Seaport and Stone Street.
Transit is excellent - I made a little map on the last slide:
• 2 min to the 2/3 at Wall Street
• 4 min to the J/Z at Broad Street
• 5 min to the 4/5 at Wall Street
• 9 min to Fulton Street for the A/C/E and additional lines
• The M15 stops directly in front of the building
There is a Whole Foods within walking distance, lots of gyms and workout classes nearby, and excellent CitiBike availability – the nearby docks generally actually have bikes available and space to return one.
About me
I'm 26M and have lived in the apartment for three years. I'm originally from Hong Kong but have been in the US since high school, and I work in consulting.
I'm friendly and easygoing but fairly independent as a roommate. I like cooking, comedy, museums, and hiking upstate. My girlfriend works in nonprofit and lives in Brooklyn; she is over sometimes, and I'm also at her place fairly often.
I'm generally quiet, don't throw parties, and mostly care about keeping the shared kitchen and bathroom reasonably clean and comfortable.
Rent / approval / move-in
Rent: $2,500/month
Security deposit: $2,500, refundable at move-out
Application fee: $20
Building move-in fee: $200, non-refundable (I know, it’s irritating)
No broker fee
The building requires professional insured movers if you are bringing furniture or other large items.
The landlord/building will need to approve you. Generally, you should have good credit and income of approximately 40× the monthly rent (~$100,000).
The room is available August 1. I would ideally like someone to move in around then, but I have some flexibility on timing for the right roommate fit.
Interested?
Please DM me with a little about yourself, what you do for work, your approximate move-in timing, and when you would be available to see the apartment. I can give a tour pretty much whenever. In-person preferred but FaceTime is totally fine if you’re outside NYC.
