Welcome to 51 Avenue B in the idyllic East Village. My apartment is on the top floor of a charming brick façade building, close to countless bars, restaurants, cultural spaces, and Tompkins Square Park.
The room available is within a two-bedroom apartment. The room is relatively spacious, with a built-in closet, a desk, a dresser, and a full-size bed that could fit a couple. There are also two windows which face the west, so the room gets great light in the morning as the sun rises above the East River.
The apartment also features a lovely open floor plan living room & kitchen, with three windows which look down upon Avenue B (great for people watching and admiring the charming East Village architecture.) These windows face the east, so you'll get great lighting in the afternoon and evening as the sun passes over the city. The living room is decorated with ample furniture, wall plants, and a book shelf (on which you are free to peruse -- as long as the book is returned before you leave!) The kitchen features renovated appliances and has a spacious counter for preparing meals. Included in the apartment are stainless steel cookware, utensils, plates, a Nespresso Vertuo machine (bring-ur-own-pods), and a Smart TV with streaming apps. The bathroom is clean and tidy, with a tub-shower that includes a mirror for shaving.
Within walking distance is the 2nd Ave /Houston St MTA station (providing quick access to Midtown Manhattan, West Village, and Downtown Brooklyn) and the 1st Ave / 14th St MTA Station (providing quick access to Chelsea, Union Square, Williamsburg, and Bushwick). The apartment is also very close to the Lower East Side neighborhood with countless bars, thrift stores, and famous restaurants (like Katz and Russ & Daughters).
You will be living with my roommate, who is a great friend of mine and is excited to get to know a potential guest. He is 22 year old who works in the fashion industry here in the city, and I'm sure on occasion he'd be willing to show you around the neighborhood, grab a coffee or a drink at a local-hidden spot.
Overall, this apartment is quintessentially New York and would be a great location for someone looking to get a real "local's experience" on an extended trip in the city.
