Room Details: Your room is a small room that sits at the back of the building and looks out into the backyard through two windows. It can easily fit a full or queen size bed (a full bedframe is in the photographed room for reference) and has some shelving that can either stay or be taken down at your preference. Additionally, the room has a "porthole" window that can let light (but not sound) into and out of your room to the living area.

Amenities: The upstairs space (shared by you and Trail and Petunia) has a small kitchen with a working oven, dishwasher, stovetop, microwave, and sink. Many cabinets for storing dishes, fridge is never so full as to not have room for your foods. With an open floor plan, the kitchen connects to the small upstairs living area. The upstairs also has a bathroom shared by you and Trail-- it's a standard-sized bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower/tub. Additionally, any curtains, shelves, or the bedframe pictured in your room can stay or go at your request. :)

Downstairs, there is a large space that is only partially shared between the three tenants. It's got storage for things that don't fit upstairs with a spiral staircase descending from upstairs living area. It is predominantly used by the downstairs roommate.

The apartment has a shared backyard for the building. There are also heating and AC units installed in all bedroom ceilings/walls. Hot water is hot, cold water is cold, and water pressure is good.

Electric/gas are split three ways each month (there is no exception regarding travel or out-of-town periods). Our monthly bill can reach up to ~170 a person during the coldest months-- it plummets during the summer months. The Wifi is also split three ways (it's about $33 for each person).

What's Nearby: The 2,3,4, and 6 trains are all within a few minutes' walking distance (like, literally four minutes walking for some stations). Trader Joe's and a ton of other stores at 125th street, laundromats just a block or so away, bodegas/pharmacy/food stores all within walking distance. We are somewhat located between Marcus Garvey Park and Central Park but not in the line of traffic. Adorable La Cuevita Community Garden right next to the apartment with lovely attendants.

Roommate Details: Trail and Petunia are upstairs. Trail is a working professional with a varying schedule as he uses his psych degrees to teach college courses and conduct counseling. He occasionally has to work from home, but work is often broken up into small periods (teaching or counseling sessions). Otherwise, he spends a lot of time with Petunia or listening to podcasts/media with headphones and is very quiet and friendly. He's a tidy roommate and is only ever direct about poor hygiene if things start to get unmanageably messy around the apartment.

Petunia is a Frenchie with the typical bulldog attributes. She sleep, she snore, she nap, she do a little fart, she eat a little snack, she get a little pet. That's about it. She has never destroyed a single thing that was not offered to her as a toy and often prefers her playtime/snuggle time to take place with people rather than alone. She is the loudest roommate only because she will, very seldomly, bark to let others in the apartment know that she can hear something outside. Again, this rarely happens, and she's also very responsive-- all you gotta do is tell her that she's okay and she will stop barking. Otherwise, she will love any person that gives her attention-- totally up to you on whether you wanna do that.

Marc is the working professional actor who has the downstairs space. He's also tidy and very quiet, as he often travels for acting gigs or works outside of the apartment. He occasionally communicates the need for short periods of relative quiet for audition-taping downstairs (this is usually in the evening).

Roommate Requirements:
Upon approval by roommates, you will be asked to submit an application that details your financial ability to maintain the lease (the leasing office is good about making things work, but I wouldn't come without a steady job or some serious savings and good bank statement history). The leasing office will then give the okay for your move-in upon approval and receipt of your rent and deposit (two payments of $1125).

We are an LGBTQIA+ household that will not accept hostility or homophobia in the home. If you are allergic to dogs or do not like them, this is likely not the place you want to be. If you are someone who expects to have lots of visitors/parties in the evening/night, the size and quiet vibe of the apartment is likely not a match. Otherwise, we look forward to hearing from you! :)
