Looking for a friendly, cat-loving roomie

Hey I’m Grace! I’m 32 and I’m a reporter at the BBC. I’m looking for a fun, friendly female roommate in their mid-late 20s or 30s to sign a year-long lease with me at my 2-bedroom East Harlem apartment.

The open room is $1,210/month not including utilities, with a one-time security deposit of the same amount. The year-long lease starts on August 1 but I’m ideally looking for someone to move in July 1 as my current roomie is leaving a month early.

I can’t say enough good things about my apartment - I’ve lived here for 7 years with my cuddly cat, and have made it into a cozy space I’m proud to call home. The available bedroom is on the smaller side but it has two massive windows, a closet, and gets great afternoon light. The living space is huge, clean, and fully equipped, with amazing windows that look out onto a tree-lined street. There’s a big fire escape that’s great for hanging out on, and a rooftop.

I keep the place very clean, and I’d like a roommate who is good about doing their dishes, who also loves cats, and ideally someone I could be friends with ☺️

I’m very social, extroverted, and an easygoing, communicative roommate. I love going to concerts, reading in the park, listening to music, and going out to dive bars and dance clubs with friends, but I also enjoy cozy nights in - baking cookies, making cocktails, and binge-watching TV and movies.
