Furnished Room in Shared House

I currently have available furnished bedrooms in a large shared house.

If you need parking, I typically can offer parking for a monthly charge, please let me know.

The fully equipped shared kitchen has two refrigerators; you would share with a maximum of two others. In addition to the ground floor half bath, there are two full baths, and you would share with two others on the second floor. There is no laundry (laundromat about half a mile away); there are no pets, no smoking, and only one person per bedroom. Guests are welcome with advance notice for reasonable periods of time.

There are detailed but obvious house rules to maintain a pleasant environment. I'll share those rules with your email address, and there's a link below. I require explicit agreement to follow these rules before moving in. They have evolved over the years to spell out all the obvious things that people don't seem to know without being told. Many people like that they are written down. The house stays clean as a result, and I have the common spaces, excluding the shared bathrooms, cleaned every 2 weeks. Consequently, tenants must clean the bathrooms on a schedule, or you can discuss with me to have it done for you for a fee.

Currently the bedrooms are filled as follows:

2nd Floor: Marie (in Mississippi); Empty room (Master Bedroom); Empty room (smaller); Hsiao (post doc researcher, from Taiwan).
3rd Floor: Samora (busy guy! Several jobs!); Trevor, recent BU grad working in Boston through the end of August 2024

The master bedroom monthly rent is $1300, plus $25 internet fee.
The smaller bedroom monthly rent is $1200, plus $25 internet fee.

In the event you plan to stay a partial month, we will prorate accordingly. If the difference is a few days, sometimes I just charge a full month.

I ask for a deposit of 50% of the rent for short term stays, and a full month for over 6 months stay. The deposit is not to be applied to the last month's rent, and will be reimbursed after move-out, subject to a $60 cleaning fee.

I also ask for 2 or 3 personal referrals from former landlords, housemates, colleagues or supervisors. I always call these references to confirm that nice people will be living in the house, who are considerate, responsible and pleasant.
