Looking for a roommate to fill the second bedroom in a 2 bed / 1 bath apartment on Atherton Street in Somerville starting September 1st.
Rent is currently $1,575/month (could increase slightly if the landlord raises it).
The location is fantastic—between Porter and Union Square, close to a bus stop, within easy reach of both the Red and Green Lines, and not far from the bike path. Market Basket and Aeronaut are nearby, and it's a great neighborhood for biking and getting around without a car. Street parking is available and it's pretty easy to find a space.
A few highlights:
Unfurnished bedroom located toward the back of the apartment---Tall black shelving unit currently in the room that can stay if you'd like it for storage or a small TV setup
Beautiful backyard with a grill
Back porch/balcony overlooking the yard
Dishwasher
Laundry in the basement (paid)
Internet, gas, and electric split between roommates
Just a heads up that a lot of the decorations and furniture you see in the photos belong to my current roommate and will be gone before move-in, so the space will look a bit different.
About me: I work in education in Somerville and tend to stay pretty active. I enjoy biking, going to the gym, and spending time outside, especially in the summer. I'm often out and about after work, but I also enjoy having a comfortable home to come back to.
The vibe at home is pretty relaxed. I like to keep shared spaces reasonably clean—nothing extreme, just dishes done and common areas taken care of—and I'm hoping to find someone with a similar mindset. I'm happy doing my own thing, but also enjoy hanging out occasionally. Friends and overnight guests are totally fine; it's just not really a party house.
Looking for someone considerate, communicative, and looking for a comfortable, low-key place to call home. I'm generally looking for a male roommate, but I'm open to anyone if it feels like a good fit.
Also, I know 9/1 moving in the Boston area can be a bit of a circus. The official move-in date is 9/1, but if it helps, we could probably work something out to move a few things in a week or two early.
