Hi y’all! I’m a queer woman, mid-30s, seeking one roommate for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1700 sq Ft house in the Fairgrounds. Move-in date any time in May 2026. All rooms are independent (not a shotgun house). The house is raised six steps. Bedroom can be unfurnished or basically furnished (queen bed, desk, chair, lamp, loveseat). Room is 14 x 14 ft, with 12 foot ceilings, a closet, lofted storage space above closet, fireplace mantle, window blinds, and a picture rail. You will have your own full bathroom, though it is not connected to the bedroom. Your portion of rent is $1,150 and includes all utilities: gas, electricity, water, and wifi. A $1,150 deposit is also due at move in.

It’s a beautiful old house with original hardwood floors, big windows, and high ceilings. It’s a stand-alone home. Common areas include a large living room, dining room, kitchen, front porch, back porch, and a huge hallway with a ballet barre and mirror. All common areas are furnished, but there’s space for your artwork, decor, or any other personal touches to help make the place feel like home! Side yard and backyard, has fruit trees and space for gardening. House has central air and heat, gas stove, dishwasher, large refresher stir and a washer/dryer. Quiet street in walking distance to Esplanade restaurants, Bayou Road businesses, Broad Theater, multiple coffee shops, and Bayou St. John.

I’ve lived in New Orleans more than 18 years. I’ve worked in museums and historic preservation, and I’m currently doing research and pursuing my PhD.

Seeking someone who is queer or queer-friendly and strives to be anti-racist, conscientious, and kind. Someone who will communicate clearly, help keep common spaces clean, and respect our neighbors. Two cats stay at the house for a few months at a time, a few times a year. No additional dogs or cats permitted, sorry.
