This will be handled directly through Prime Apartments as a roommate release. The leasing office explained that the new person would first be added to the lease as a roommate, then I would be released and the remaining lease would transfer to them.

The new tenant would only be responsible for the remaining two months of the current lease — October and November. If you want to stay after November 30, you can speak directly with the leasing office about renewal options.
