10 minutes to midtown

Roommate wanted: One of our roommates moved in with her fiance and opened up a spot in our 3 bed/1 bath apartment in quiet Weehawken, NJ (just north of Hoboken). Our apartment is on the second floor of a 3-family house and has a full kitchen and living room, coin-operated laundry in basement, and is 4 blocks to first bus stop in and out of Manhattan (10min bus to midtown/up to 30min at rush hour).

About us:
We?re a 34 year old gay man (triathlete, works in non-profit, ENTP) and a 37 year old straight woman (bookish, works in tech, INTJ). We?re both unabashedly nerdy, like to cook, bake, enjoy a variety of television, and eat relatively healthy. Both work full-time on mostly 9-5ish schedules. We have two very friendly cats, both rescues. Our landlord lives on the 1st floor; retired Weehawken PD Sgt with 2 dogs.

What we?re looking for:
Looking for someone who is as much a potential new friend as they are a roommate. We live together so we greatly appreciate open, honest, and respectful communication. Ideally, we?ll all grocery shop, cook, and share when it comes to food and apartment needs, etc rather than everything separate and labeled, but that?s negotiable. We?re not neat freaks but keeping the apartment clean is important, especially the common areas. Another cat is possible, dogs are not permitted per landlord.

The nitty-gritty:
The rent is $625/month plus utilities (Gas/Electric and Internet/cable) and grocery share (see above) - rarely more than $850 total/month. Security deposit is $900. The apartment is mostly furnished. 3rd bedroom is not, though there is a dresser and bookshelf available if desired. The bedroom is 13ft by 10ft with a 9ft ceiling. The room had fit a queen-sized bed, 2 full size dressers, 3 bookshelves, a sitting chair and has a full closet. We are happy to answer any questions regarding the space. Per landlord, there is no smoking in the apartment, but outside is fine so long as you clean up after yourself. Room is available January 1st on and lease is month to month though we?re hoping for someone more long-term. Move in date is negotiable. Inquiries please reach out directly.
