Room for 1 or 2 in Chef’s home with Gourmet Meals
Please note: I have 2 rooms, a smaller and larger, prices as shown above--even though the listing says $1200.
I’m a professional chef, and the price includes self-serve continental breakfast, and restaurant-quality dinner every night. I started hosting in Boston in 2008, then moved to St. Pete in 2022.
Bento-style lunches are available for an additional $15.00/day.
I have a larger room which can sleep 1 or 2 guests, and a smaller room which can only sleep 2 guests if they share the bed. Price is per guest, not per room.
Rooms may be available for longer than calendar shows, we can discuss when you get here.
Please make sure to read my description and reviews to understand that you’re sharing my home, not just renting a spare room.
My minimum stay is 30 days, as per the city of St. Pete’s ordinance, which bans short-term rentals under 30 days. NOTE: I’m not just saying this. I’m not interested in short-term stays and having people coming and going in my home. I have always had a minimum stay, even before all the municipal laws.
My home is in Maximo, a quiet, safe residential neighborhood near Eckerd College, St. Pete Beach and Gulfport.
Walking distance to Eckerd College, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Walmart, CVS and Target.
Close to downtown, St. Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille Beach, Maximo Park, Tropicana Field, St. Pete Pier.
30 minutes to St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport, 40 minutes to Tampa and Airport
There are 2 bedrooms in a separate wing, with a shared bathroom. A large living room, dining room and kitchen that look out on a landscaped yard with flowers. The guest bathroom, although private (I have my own bathroom in my bedroom) is shared with a second guest. bedroom in the same wing. Note: The bedroom doors are lockable from the inside, but we don't lock our bedroom doors when we leave the home. Guests must be quiet and respectful when using the bathroom: No phone use in bathroom unless quiet enough to not be heard outside.
Quiet hours are between 10 pm & 8 am.
Because I'm a chef and I'm providing restaurant-quality dinners, guests have limited kitchen access:
I prefer that guests do NOT buy their own food as I do not want monogramed eggs in the refrigerator!
Guests have limited refrigerator access, freezer is not available, cooking isn’t allowed unless negotiated and approved.
Guests clean up after breakfast: put dishes in dishwasher and wipe counter & table. Please do not leave dishes in sink or crumbs on table/counter, or bring food into your room. As dinners are included and significant effort goes into their preparation, guests help by setting the table, washing dishes, and taking out recycling & sweeping floor as needed. For vegetarians and vegans: I often cook meat for myself, mainly fish, sometimes chicken, pork or beef although my diet changes. There will also be vegetables, grain and salad—but not necessarily a vegetarian entree every night. Guests are expected to wash all dinner dishes, even ones that had meat on them. If that doesn’t work for you, please don’t book.
Dinner is served when ready, between 7:00 and 8:00 pm. Guests are expected to be home and ready for dinner at 7:00, although it may be served as late as 8:00. If you won’t be home for dinner, please notify me the night before.
Please get permission before bringing any guests home. Sleepovers of un-registered guests are not allowed.
A washing machine is available but no dryer: lines to hang laundry outside, in laundry room and in bedroom.
I give my guests space and privacy, but am available when needed to help with local culture, language, etc. as appropriate and desired. My description is pretty clear about how this is a homestay not a roommate situation, but please contact me before booking if you have any questions!
It’s important to me that my guests feel comfortable, so if you have questions or issues while you’re here, please tell me and I’ll try to resolve them.
As per St Pete ordinance, minimum stay 28 nights.
Guests pay any applicable city taxes
Absolutely no smokers, vaping, e-cigarettes or fragrance or even aerosol spray--I'm very allergic.
