I am relocating for work and am seeking a qualified tenant to takeover my lease for a bedroom with a fireplace and box bay windows, beginning October 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022 at $895.00/month. The bedroom (Bedroom 4) is located on the first floor of a Victorian-style 4 bed, 2.5 bath Eckington townhome located at 1837 North Capitol Street NE, Washington, DC 20002.

You will have the option to renew before the end of the lease term, or go month-to-month. In addition to the monthly rent, you will pay a monthly administrative fee, which covers the wifi and the professional cleaning service. Utilities are split four-ways based on actual usage. Monthly rent on average is $1044.00 with fees/utilities. Depending on your credit, there may not be a security deposit. You would just pay a fee.

The current residents are Andy, Mayowa and Spencer—all college-educated, working male professionals under the age of 30. You will have an opportunity to virtually meet the current housemates during a 48-hour Meet and Greet chat to learn more about one another and to see if you are a good fit for the Bungalow home.

Community Space: You will share an airy and open two-level floor plan that displays hardwood floors and an exposed brick wall in the dining area. In the kitchen, there are stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Best of all, a sliding glass door leads out to the fenced-in patio for another space to unwind. Perks include high-speed WiFi, monthly professional cleaning services, and furnished common areas--just bring your bedroom furniture! A smart TV, in-unit laundry, and a dishwasher are also included. Bedroom 4: You will enjoy a sunlit, airy space with beautiful hardwood floors. The bamboo shades come with the bedroom and the linen window curtains can be negotiated after the application process is completed. The fireplace adds a nice touch! My personal smart TV sits comfortably on the mantel. There is a half-bath located directly outside of the bedroom door and also a full bathroom on the second floor that you will share with two housemates.

What You Will Need to Bring: A twin or full sized bed, window coverings for tall windows (84 in.), a dresser and/or a clothing rack or wardrobe closet (for hanging clothing), and a storage cabinet to store towels and toiletries. Storage is not available onsite but there are ample storage facilities in the neighborhood. There is also a small closet for cleaning supplies in the foyer area. Plants are welcome, too!

For the kitchen, Bungalow provides IKEA dishes, glassware, and utensils. There are pots and pans available for use but you may bring your own. You will have dedicated cabinet space to store dry goods and small appliances. You may bring cooking utensils and food storage containers. You may also need to bring cleaning supplies and a mop/broom.

Neighborhood: You are less than a 15-minute walk from both the Shaw-Howard and the NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Stations. Rhode Island Avenue NW is also just a block away- where many bus lines run. Perfect location between Shaw, NOMA, Eckington and LeDroit Park neighborhoods--Catholic University, Howard University and Georgetown University.
