Roommate Wanted // Spacious 3BR East Rock Apt

I’m looking for a roommate to join me in a second floor apartment of a big, late 19th-century East Rock house. There are three bedrooms, I occupy one — the other I keep open for guests, and the third is currently available. The house has a full bath complete with a clawfoot tub. There’s a large, open, living room with a working fireplace, as well as a front balcony porch with a swing.  We also have a small library area, an enclosed back sunporch, a dining room, and a well-stocked kitchen. The apartment is completely furnished.

Your room would be a large unfurnished bedroom at the front of the house with big windows and a spacious closet with built-in drawers. The basement has free laundry, a half bathroom, and lots of storage.  Our landlady lives on the first floor—she’s super nice and is very responsive to and caring of her tenants and home. We park on the street.

The apartment is within walking distance to East Rock Park and the Orange Street markets; it’s a ~25 min walk to downtown, and a ~45 second walk to the blue and orange shuttle lines. Rent for the room is $1200 and utilities typically come out to an average of $130/mo (gas, electric, internet) with the three coldest months being on the higher end. Landlady has a no-pet-policy.

I am in my late 30s, I work at an elementary school and am gone working hours during the week. I tend to turn in early these days but do enjoy having friends over now and again. I enjoy art, music, and cooking! I am a big fan of New Haven, and am always happy to give tips to newcomers about the city.

I am looking for a clean & respectful roommate. I have had a run of fantastic roommates and would love to continue that streak!
