Luxury 1 Bed. Roommate Needed ASAP!

I’m looking for a roommate to share a spacious, approximately 1,070 sq. ft. luxury apartment in the Cimarron Hills area of Colorado Springs. It’s a second-floor, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment in a great location near Powers Blvd. and Highway 24, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and Peterson Space Force Base.

The available bedroom is spacious, carpeted, completely unfurnished, and gets plenty of natural light. You’ll have a good-sized walk-in closet as well as your own full bathroom. The bathroom opens into the main living area rather than directly into the bedroom, but it would be yours and would not be shared with me.

The apartment has central heat and A/C, an in-unit washer and dryer, dishwasher, plenty of shared living space, and a very large balcony. The complex also has a large three-season swimming pool, a year-round hot tub, clubhouse, large gym, and dog park. Uncovered parking is free, with covered parking available for an additional $45/month.

The location is very convenient. King Soopers is nearby along with plenty of other shopping and food options, and there’s a Starbucks and Chipotle right next to the complex. Powers Blvd. is only a short distance away with tons of additional restaurants, stores, and services.

The current lease runs through approximately April 2027, when I am planning to move, so I’m ideally looking for someone who wants a place through the remainder of the lease. There is no security deposit owed to me since I’ve already paid it. The complex does have an application process and an application fee of approximately $60.

I currently have two cats. And the complex has a limit of 2 pets per household. So unfortunately you would not be able to have any pets.

I’m a 20-year-old guy and a certified phlebotomy technician. I work mornings and afternoons, although I’m still home a decent amount. I’m friendly, laid-back, and pretty easy to live with. I game quite a bit, enjoy hanging out with friends, and I’m also a furry, so I’m looking for someone who’s comfortable with that. I’m LGBTQ+, so being LGBTQ-friendly and generally accepting of other people is an absolute requirement.

I put a lot of effort into keeping the apartment clean and taking care of the shared spaces, and I’m looking for someone who will do the same. I don’t expect your bedroom to look like a showroom, and normal clutter like clothes or belongings isn’t a big deal. I just ask that you maintain basic cleanliness and hygiene, clean up after yourself in shared areas, and don’t allow trash, food waste, or similar messes to accumulate.

I’m happy to have either a social roommate who’d like to hang out and potentially become friends or someone who mostly likes doing their own thing. Either is completely fine with me. Friends, parties, and overnight guests are okay within reason, as long as we communicate with each other and are respectful about who’s coming into our shared home.

Casual drinking is totally fine, and I’m okay with weed. Cigarette smoking is a hard dealbreaker, however, and I’m looking for a non-cigarette-smoking roommate.

I’m also looking for someone financially stable and reliable. Although the apartment complex may not require separate income verification, I will ask for proof of income before agreeing to room together. I’m looking for a minimum gross income of approximately $1,800/month ($23,640/year), which is 2× your $900 portion of the rent. Most importantly, I need someone who can reliably pay their portion of rent and bills each month and handle the responsibilities that come with sharing a home.

As far as food and the kitchen go, I’m pretty flexible. I’m happy to share some food and kitchen items if we’re both comfortable with that, or we can keep groceries separate. I do meal prep fairly often, so I sometimes use a decent amount of refrigerator space, but I’ll make sure we divide the shared storage fairly.

Overall, I’m looking for someone friendly, responsible, communicative, accepting, and reasonably clean. I want both of us to be able to feel comfortable in our own home, whether we end up becoming good friends or simply being roommates who get along well and respect each other’s space.
