I am looking to share a lovely, spacious house with a clean, communicative, kind, ecologically-sensitive graduate student or working adult (would consider a couple for the right folks) who prioritizes cultivating a safe and supportive space for living, growing and thriving!
The house is on Main St. right next to city park in a safe, lovely area of town which is walking distance from restaurants, coffee shops and nature trails. About a 15 minute drive to UC Davis campus. Rent is 1,200$ per month for a private, spacious room with tall ceilings, a full closet with extra storage, lots of natural light and a large, private bathroom with a big clawfoot tub/shower. The room itself is not furnished but the bathroom and rest of the house is. You’ll have complete access to a beautiful furnished house with space in the office, fully stocked kitchen, in-unit laundry, a lovely sun/plant room and a huge backyard. Utilities not included in rent but are usually no more than 150$ which will be shared 50/50 by me, the current tenant, and you.
I imagine having regular shared meals, doing yard work together, creating a culture of care, learning from one another and having lots of fun! Interest or skills in gardening is a plus (plans in the works for big garden installations). It will be just you and I in the house besides regular visits from my partner, friends and family - things stay pretty quiet and relaxed in the house during the week.
A little more about me: I am a first year PhD student at UC Davis researching fungal ecology. I love all things fungi and mushrooms and am an all-round biodiversity fanatic. I am an avid gardener, native plant enthusiast, artist, hiker, and surfer. I love to cook delicious healthy foods and read poetry and Nordic mythology in my spare time. I have a pretty busy schedule right now with school and teaching but when I’m home really love to be home and the house reflects that. I am very clean, caring and communicative, and expect the same out of a housemate.
