1 room for rent in laid back Vista home

We have 1 room becoming available for rent in our 4 bedroom home starting mid-December 2025. Please read this entire post before responding.

A bit about us, my husband and I bought the house in July 2016. It was built in the 50's but fully remodeled before we bought it. Brand new floors, roof, brand-new high-end kitchen and bathrooms etc. the house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We live here with our dog Bowie. We also rent two of the rooms, one of which is becoming available the other is currently occupied. Our 3rd spare room we use as an office space/extra closet for my husband and me. The house has a large back yard on a corner lot, with lots of space for activities. We like to occasionally host corn hole tournaments, brew beer, or even host back yard movie nights. We are in our Mid-30’s. All smoking done outside! We are LGBTQ+ Friendly and accepting.

The house is 1 min. off of the 78 freeway pretty dead center between the 5 and 15 which makes it easy to get just about everywhere in north county in about 15-20 min.. We are within walking distance of a sprinter station and there's a grocery store close by.

The room has 2 windows, mirrored closet doors, hard wood-like laminate floors and is right next to the bathroom, at the end of the hall. The 2 rented rooms share the hallway bathroom and it is occasionally used by guests as well.

Some more of what we are looking for in roommates - someone who is respectful, and honest. Someone typically quiet and self sufficient but also someone who isn't always locked in their room and can be friends with us, go out for dinner or drinks on occasion, have a family dinner at home, etc. This is our home, homes are filled with families, so if you move in, we hope you'll become a part of ours. We hope to find people who like to have fun and occasionally party, but people who aren’t alcoholics, or drug addicts (no hard drugs!) You should have a regular job, be responsible, trustworthy, hardworking, clean, etc... to touch a bit more on that last one... we are by no means clean freaks, but please do not let dishes pile in your room, or in the sink, wash your own, help put them away, work together to keep the house clean, take out the trash when you see it’s full, keep your bathroom clean etc.

Rent is $1,000. This includes utilities,(water, trash, gas and electric), wifi (no cable) essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, sponges, trash bags etc., full access to kitchen, laundry and common areas.
