Room & Private Bath in 3Bd/2Ba House - Crown Point

Zane and I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in Crown Point and have a bedroom with a private bathroom available starting July 24, possibly sooner. We are flexible on move in date. The bedroom measures 10ft x 12.5ft and is $1450 per month. The property owner has increased rent each of the past several years, typically June 1. Last year it was about 6%, FYI. Utilities (internet and electric) generally run $40-60 per person per month. The security deposit is $1300, pets are not allowed, and no smoking inside. The lease is month to month, but we are looking for someone who anticipates being here a year or more. There is an application process with the owner that will include a credit and background check.

The house has a full kitchen, a dinette area, and a large living room, which are all connected in one open space. We also have our own washing and drying machine. Woohoo! The common space is furnished, but your bedroom is not. If you have furniture or decor that you’d like to incorporate in the common space, we are open to some rearranging. The house has a long driveway that can hold 3 cars. Typically, street parking is not a problem and we only park one or two in the drive. The neighborhood is quiet, and we are just 1/2 of a mile from Crown Point Park and the path that goes around the bay. Vons and Trader Joe’s are less than a mile away, and there is easy access to the 5 and 8. It’s a great spot!

In terms of atmosphere, we keep things mellow. I prioritize the house as a place to take care of the basics first: eat, sleep, rest and recover. It’s important to me to feel at-ease here and having some connection with my housemates is part of that. Zane and I often chat and catch up in the evenings. We also play basketball and surf some when the water is warm. When I am worn out, I tend to retreat to my room. I enjoy having people over from time to time. I try to be considerate and communicative about it and expect the same. Since the common areas are all a single connected space, it’s important to check in with everyone for that sort of thing.

A little bit about me: My name is Zach. I’m 34 y/o male, grew up in Kansas out on the prairie, and am a civil engineer. I play tennis and volleyball regularly, follow college sports some, play piano, and cook/eat at home most days. My sleeping hours are 10:30-7ish. I work out of my room full-time.

I'm Zane! I'm 33 y/o male from Pittsburgh, PA and currently do private event bartending for a living. I enjoy the outdoors, and living an active lifestyle. I love all kinds of recreational activities like basketball, golf, frisbee, bowling, climbing, and most beach sports. In my spare time, I usually distract myself with video games or sleep, but I'll always enjoy a good board game or movie night.
