Welcome to this wonderful stand-alone casita/ granny flat at the Casa de Luz triplex!
This light, bright, colorful, airy, spacious, furnished, and tastefully decorated granny flat/ garage apartment/ ADU was built recently, and is absolutely beautiful!
It is a separate structure from, but shares the property with, a craftsman duplex home which is the jewel of the block! As you can see from the photos, this home has good vibes all around, and hopefully the positive, neighborly feel of the home will be just as important to you as the many amenities it offers.
This situation is intended for a single professional, and you have the whole place to yourself. It is not intended for couples nor families. No exceptions, so please do not reach out if you are 2 people or more - on person only, please.
Please also no pets, though an exception could be made for an extremely chill indoor/ outdoor small pet (see details below).
INDOOR HOME AMENITITES:
This is a studio apartment with all of the comforts of a real home. It is small, but feels surprisingly large and spacious, because of its open design, ample sunlight, many windows, and vaulted ceiling. Amenities include a full bathroom with shower and tub (!), humidity-free bathroom sensor, a full kitchen including an apartment-sized fridge, stove with oven, plenty of counter space, tons of cabinets, and kitchen sink with garbage disposal. Note that this is a real kitchen, not just kitchenette. The kitchen is fully stocked, the apartment fully furnished, and towels, linens, etc. provided. There is a surprising amount of storage space throughout.
In the sleeping area, there is a comfortable, full-sized bed with an almost-new mattress. There are two closet areas, one of which is a huge armoire with mirrored door, which doubles as a massive dresser for folded clothes, towels, etc.
OUTDOOR AMENITIES:
- Outdoor amenities include a gated driveway (street parking is plentiful, but the driveway is yours if you prefer) , wrap-around large yard, a dedicated porch for your exclusive use including a comfy armchair glider, ottoman, futon and side tables (this porch is set up like an outdoors living room, which effectively doubles your "living" space!). You'll also have access to a large patio with double lounger, umbrella table, and barbecue grill to be shared communally (but not often used by others currently living onsite).
- There is a washer/dryer and laundry room, to be accessed by all tenants on the property, via separate private entrance.
- Super-fast fiber WiFi (and ethernet!) from AT&T is included along with other bills (electric, sewage, trash, etc.) There is no TV, but given the beautiful San Diego location and plentiful things to do just down the street, you might not need TV! :-))
Which brings us to the next part...
NEIGHBORHOOD AMENITIES:
This part of Chula Vista is super-close to San Diego. You will be a:
~15-minute drive from downtown San Diego and the exciting Gaslamp district!
~15 minute drive from Coronado island, one of San Diego's most famous and beautiful beach spots, and 20 minutes from Imperial Beach.
~15 minute drive from trendy neighborhoods such as North Park, Hillcrest, University Heights, and other central San Diego hotspots.
Additionally, the neighborhood of the home (downtown Chula Vista) is walkable and convenient. Within a 10-minute walk you'll find a library, park, rec center, community lap pool, and several gyms, including a free outdoor gym right next to the house! Right down the street are countless restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and a "hopping" brewery scene (pun intended! ;-)) There is very active nightlife right down the street, and yet the house is super-quiet and feels incredibly safe. Neighbors are also great.

- Move-in available October 1.
- Looking for an initial intention of 3-6 months, which can be extended if there is a longer-term fit.
- This unit is intended for use by only one adult.
- Pets: No pets, with the possible exception of very quiet, low-energy indoor dogs, or outdoor or declawed indoor cats. If you have a very chill, relaxed animal, this might work. However, If you have a normal, vivacious pup or kitten, as much as it pains me because I love animals, it's probably not a fit. Let's discuss via phone.
- Smoking: No smoking or vaping of any substance on property.
- Drugs: No hard drugs, and would prefer no cannabis. Occasional edibles are okay (it's California, after all), but not as a lifestyle, please.
- Cost: Price for this unit is $1800/month, fully furnished, fully stocked, all bills paid.
