Private room + private bathroom in La Jolla

Rent itself is $1,250 but the typical per-person monthly cost is around $1,625, including about $375 for utilities and house services. That $375 covers gas, electricity, water, high-speed internet, a leased reverse-osmosis (super good) drinking water system, pest control, and professional housekeeping every two weeks. There is a $1,250 security deposit and the lease is month-to-month.

Laundry is on-site in the garage.

Parking is easy with three driveway spots that are first-come, first-served, and additional street parking is always available directly in front of the house.

The second-floor bedroom is 15’ x 11’ with hardwood floors, built-in floor-to-ceiling drawers, a small built-in clothes rack, and a view overlooking the back patio. You’ll also have a separate private closet on the first floor. Your private bathroom is directly across the hall, is yours alone, and has dual sinks and a bathtub.

The house 🏡
We’re in a killer location. It’s very quiet and safe, with trees and wildlife (nothing dangerous), and we’re a three-minute walk to short hiking trails and amazing views. At the same time, we’re ten minutes to the beach and just five minutes to the highway.

Our kitchen is large enough to handle four people, with a large island, six-burner range, two ovens, and three refrigerators, so no one’s food is getting mixed up and eaten “on accident.”

We’ve got two living rooms. One has darts, ping pong, pool, and a properly high but dinky indoor basketball hoop. The other has two 65” TVs, which is overkill but also 10/10 for sports.
We also have a huge secluded back patio with a fire pit and cornhole, plus a pro-level home gym in part of the garage.

Our vibe 👇
We’re looking for both a respectful roommate and someone we vibe with. The energy in the house is balanced between quieter weeknights and usually going out in some form or another on weekend nights. We’ll have small groups over here and there, and a couple larger parties throughout the year, but those are always planned together and with plenty of lead time.

We’re all in our 30s and into a bunch of different stuff, so I just piled it all into one long list of interests that hopefully sync with a few of yours…

Backpacking, beach hanging, camping, coffee brewing, cooking, DJing, foodie spots, live music, meditation, movies, house, techno, music festivals, ping pong, pool, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, live sports, travel, weightlifting, and wine.

We’ve had both guys and girls live with us and are open to either.
