Great Views and Trolley Access to UCSD
Current roommate is a UCSD postdoc moving out August 1 after nearly four years here, moving back to Italy. I'm looking for someone who plans to stay at least a year, but that’s negotiable with the right situation.
The condo is fully furnished, 1,040 sq ft. Your bedroom (about 12' x 12') includes a large closet with built-in organizers and a remodeled private bathroom beside your room. The room can be furnished or unfurnished. The unit has panoramic views of Mission Bay and surrounding hillside homes, abundant natural light (windows on three sides of unit), and is in an excellent location. It's a 10-minute walk to the bay, a 2-minute walk to the trolley (then 14 min. to UCSD stop). By car, we're just minutes from La Jolla, UTC, Little Italy, downtown, the airport, USD, Old Town, and Pacific Beach. The gated complex includes underground tandem parking, pool, Jacuzzi, and in-unit washer/dryer.
To move in I'd want both first and last months rent plus the security deposit, $900, which equals $3,950. Someone with solid financials or a verified UCSD postdoc contract/documents can skip the prepay of the last month's rent.
I’ve lived here 11 years. I want a quiet, clean, considerate, financially stable housemate who works/schools outside the condo. I’ve lived with 24 to 74 year olds. Age is not important, but sufficient compatibility is. I'm a mostly-retired Human Resources Development and Executive Coach of 30+ years. I've been meditating some 20 years (and finishing editing a book I’ve written over many years on consciousness development/evolution, a subject matter that has been very useful with my client work, and in my life in general). I'm financially solid, credit score around 812 (yours needs to be above 690 per the property manager). On weekends I usually go spend time with friends/colleagues or do writing at some local cafe. We'll be socially independent of each other, including meals, not hanging out together, but will have no problem engaging each other when it seems appropriate like when crossing paths in the kitchen or whatever, i. e., you’re not a hermit/lockin type. I've been living in house-share arrangements for some 25 years, a preferred lifestyle, in many households around the country (Denver, Boston, Seattle, San Diego), wherever my business-consulting practice had taken me.
Note: One very important requirement: I have Chemical Sensitivities. As such, fragrances, scented products, air fresheners, candles, dryer sheets, bleach, Fabreze, etc. and strong cooking odors can significantly affect my health and ability to have a clear head and work. We use only fragrance-free, environmentally friendly cleaning and laundry products (which I can provide). I eat a 95% raw/organic diet and prefer someone who cooks lightly, if at all, and avoids greasy or strongly scented foods. Please address this chemical-sensitivity issue in your reply so I know you've read and understand it.
This is a peaceful, easy going space. Occasional guests are fine, but overnight visitors should be rare, and not act like they live here when they’re here.
No smoking, vaping, drugs, or pets!
Utilities and internet typically run $65–$95 monthly per person depending on time of year. Applicants must pass a credit and background check through the property manager (approximately $45).
Please tell me about yourself, your situation, why you’re moving, financial stability, credit score range, and what you're looking for in a shared living arrangement. If it seems like a good fit we'll schedule a phone conversation, and then go from there.
