My name is Patricia and I currently live in a double master, ground floor apartment with a patio in Mission Viejo at Vista de Lago apartments. The bedrooms do not share walls, at around 970 square feet total, and I am looking for a person, a couple, or two people cool with sharing a room, to sign a 1 year lease in December for the master suite, with a move in date of January 5th. The room is 14x12, unfurnished, with double closets, attached bathroom with Roman style bathtub, and a sliding glass door directly onto the patio.

A few things to be aware of:
- Myself, my partner, and another couple have been living in the unit for two years. Everyone but me is moving after the holidays. I am in the smaller room with detached bathroom.
- You will have to submit an application through the leasing office, they do a credit check, and all tenants have to be on the lease. Application fee is $50.50
- We currently pay $2300/mo with pet rent and all the fees they don?t tell you about for trash and mail keys etc. There is a good chance this will go up, as last year it went up by $150 total, and I can afford $960, not including utilities, estimating your rent around $1500-$1600. Because I can?t afford to pay more than that, the dining room area would also be your dedicated space in the common area (but not as a bedroom) once my partner moves.
- Utilities have been costing us around $400 a month, including internet, during the summer and around $275 in the cooler months. The couple we currently live with are home all the time with the tv on almost 24/7, so I?d imagine that would drop significantly.
- Parking isn?t terrible! But, we do only get one assigned covered spot and one parking pass for any uncovered spot. If there is a 3rd car, that would cost an additional monthly fee for a reserved space. I currently have the covered spot but am willing to discuss what makes the most sense.
- Unfortunately, my dog is not as instantly friendly as she used to be, so it?s not a guarantee if you?ve got a dog or cat. She is as sweet as can be with people she knows, especially women more so than men, and definitely does better with repeat meetings. She is completely housebroken, doesn?t destroy stuff, and pretty much just hangs in the bedroom and living room.

Lifestyle things it would be great if we matched up on:
- LGBTQ+ friendly/welcoming
- smoking cigarettes isn?t allowed in the complex at all, per the lease agreement.
- Illegal substances are, well, illegal. And all legal substances, I?m okay with. Excessive drunkenness/partying in the house is not going to be a good fit for either of us.
- I work Monday - Friday, out of the house by 8am and back between 5-6:30 depending on the day. You, too, should have a close enough schedule to this so we aren?t keeping each other up when we have to work the next day, or are respectful of that if dissimilar.
- I do drink , and host the very occasional get together for coworkers or friends (maybe 3-4x a year?) Communication is key here and am completely open to most things so long as they are planned ahead and consider the folks living together.
- My only expectations of roommates are: being communicative about needs, wants, requests, etc. I don?t expect us to be best friends (it?s cool if that happens!) and I also don?t want to anyone to feel awkward or uncomfortable in our home. I am direct and honest, but not rude. I make no assumptions and will always ask about something. That?s uncomfortable for a lot of folks cuz they assume accusations and what not, but I?m just trying to be clear.

We all know how hard, but mostly inconvenient it is, to live with roommates, but here we are. A meet up to chat before a decision is made is required, as well as meeting my dog. We can have an honest conversation about what we are okay with living with, preferred thermostat settings (lol), cleanliness, chores, and all that other nitty gritty stuff no one really wants to talk about but we should if we?re signing a lease for 1 year.
