Honest ad: clothing-optional house, women only
This is an LGBTQ+ friendly home, and that matters to me. You'll read why below. Private pool with 7ft fence.
This ad will filter out 99% of you, and that's the point. It might also be the most honest and transparent ad you've ever read.
I'll tell you exactly who I am and what this house is, and you decide if it's your fit.
I'm a hardworking entrepreneur and this is a calm, focused house. If you're a partier or bring drama, this isn't your listing, please keep scrolling.
Seeking a female roommate only: the household will be you, me, and my current roommate (a woman), three people total. Guys, no hard feelings, but please don't reply. I've tried guy roommates, they hit on the girl roommate. Thats not what I'm about. "Don't shit where you eat, lol"
A room is opening up because my roommate of 5 years is moving out, for the best reason: she built her own business here in LA over those 5 years and can now afford her own apartment right next to it. Most roommates here stay 2-5 years. That's the kind of house this is.
I'm 45, I run a $1 million+ per year marketing agency (e-commerce and brand clients, and no, my company isn't OF associated or talent management) from home. I've lived in this house since 2017. I rent from the owner, who has approved me renting out rooms within the house (no Airbnb, long-term roommates only). I live clothing-optional and have for years: around the house, at the pool. I also have LGBTQ+ friends who visit from out of town (NYC especially) who share the clothing-optional approach, including swimming in the pool, so that's part of house life a few times a year. It's a normal part of life here, not a thing anyone makes weird. Roommates are never expected to participate, and my current roommate doesn't. The girl roommate that is moving out did participate and loved the freedom. I'm telling you up front instead of on a phone call because I'd rather lose 99 applicants than have one uncomfortable person living in my home. I don't need to rent these rooms. I'm looking for the right fit, not a fast fill.
I'm 10 years sober, I'm fine with you drinking here as long as you don't get outta control. I have a liquor cabinet for my friends.
IMPORTANT: This is non-judgement, LGBTQ+ friendly home, and you need to be LGBTQ+ friendly too, that's very important to me. I'm a Christian and straight, but several of my dear friends are LGBTQ+. I'm not religious about my faith, "liberal Christian" if that makes sense: I don't believe God cares who you love. Live and let live.
Politics: I'm middle of the road, I'm a entrepreneur, but also very socially liberal. Respect for others is what matters to me.
The house:: The house was built in the 60's, a big 4-bedroom 2500 sq ft house. Solid, comfortable, in a safe neighborhood with no street parking signs. So you'll never get a parking ticket here. 4 miles from the 101/405, about 25-30 min to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, or Santa Monica. Fully private backyard pool behind 7-ft fencing, covered outdoor workout area, home gym with a high-quality Bowflex elliptical and bike. Quiet, walkable neighborhood.
SAFETY: Two Ring cameras out front that you'll have access to.
Dogs: I have 2 puppies, so this is a dog household, and dogs are OK. If you have a dog, tell me about them when you reply.
The rooms (pick one, the other becomes the guest room):
- Downstairs room, attached bathroom: $1,150/month flat
- Upstairs master suite: private bath, walk-in closet, storage, corner desk nook: $1,475/month flat
Whichever room you choose, the other one becomes the house guest room, so when your family or friends visit, they have a real room to stay in.
All-inclusive: utilities, fast internet, central AC, half a refrigerator, your own pantry space, assigned laundry day on a quality washer/dryer.
The vibe: This is a working house. I run my company from here, there's occasional podcast filming and business guests, and the energy is career-focused. If you work hard at something, you'll fit right in.
Vetting goes both ways:
- I'll connect serious applicants with my current roommate and past roommates directly, privately, me not involved. Ask them anything, including my 5-year roommate who just moved out.
- Most of my closest friends and past roommates are women. Don't take my word for it, ask them, not me.
- I'd expect you to actually make those calls before you commit. If you don't want to check references, this isn't the right place for you.
If you read every word and this sounds like home, reply with a bit about yourself and what you do.
