Light, airy room in the very best LA area.

This is an unusual situation. Simply because it is in Hancock Park, the regular price for this room is $1,579 to $2,000, depending on amenities. Hancock Park is a prestigious, high rental area, famous for it's mansions, and tree-lined, park like surroundings. The immediate area where my house is, has fewer mansions and consists of single family homes, like mine, and is still Hancock Park. It's high desirability is in that while it is a quiet oasis, it is quite literally steps away from everything needed. Ralph's, Trader Joe's, restaurants, etc. etc.. Walking distance are also, parks, museums, shopping centers and tons of points of interest. Public transportation in all directions is also steps away. It is one of the safest neighborhoods in LA. Residents take strolls, jog and bicycle well into the night here. I walk my little dog around 11 pm, and still say hello to walking neighbors.

The reason I am offering the room at such a reduced price: this 99-year-old house has had it's major work done (plumbing, electric, construction, etc.), so there is no more noise or debris. I am now in the process of addressing its cosmetics and landscaping. I call my home my "work in progress," and welcome comments and feedback. The work is being done by handymen, and myself. I am an elderly woman who has a carpentry certificate, and like to do hands-on work by myself. It is rare, but occasionally, I may need something to be held for a few minutes, or moved (nothing heavy). I am hoping to find a house-mate who would be willing to do that with a good humor and fun. Other than that, I spend my time writing, and do volunteer work when available. I am laid back and easy going. No drama here.

The way the house is arranged, there is plenty of privacy. Companionship is there, as well., if wanted. The room has its own private entrance. Right outside the door is a deck, with table and chairs, as pictured. The room is also equipped with a small refrigerator, micro-wave, and electric pitcher. These were for when I was an Airbnb superhost, but they can be removed. Otherwise, it is a self-sustained unit much like a small studio apartment. Kitchen, front and back yards are there for use at any time as well. The layout is great for entertaining.
