Master suite in a two bedroom apartment available now

I am looking for a roommate to fill the Master suite in a two bedroom apartment. The room is the size of a small studio with bright light, huge closets and a large private bathroom. I have the smaller room and detached bathroom (see photos for layout).

The total rent for the place is $2,800 per month, which is divided 55/45. So, the rent for the large room is $1,550. The utilities are shared 50/50. The deposit is $1,550 and there is a $40 application fee that goes to the landlord. [If you move in sometime in January, I'll prorate the amount for the month and regular monthly rent is due on the 1st.]

We will share the kitchen/dining area, which are fully stocked with pots, pans, etc.; but, there’s room if you bring your own. The living room, balcony, kitchen and dining area are in the center of the unit, so we can both work at home without disturbing the other. The photos show the bedroom and living room empty and furnished. My current roommate is taking the couch, the TV, and stand with her; but, I will replace them asap.

About Me

I am very clean, mellow and easy-going with great communication skills and boundaries. I'm an anthropologist and I love meeting new people. During my days, I like to read and write, crochet (and other textile arts), drawing, talking about history and politics, and relaxing. I’m also a silly and playful, but serious when necessary. I have lived in many places with many different kinds of people, so I’m experienced with compromising and open communication. I'm looking to make a home with someone who enjoys being social, but also appreciates alone time.

About you

I am looking for someone who is mature, respectful, kind, considerate, peaceful, independent, and ideally has lived with others. Cleanliness in the shared areas is a must, but I'm not too too fussy despite being a virgo. I'm a queer pagan woman, and I'm open to people of all genders, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, and abilities socially, but I prefer to live with a woman at this time. I’d like my roommate to be direct, communicative, and honest with me. These are the most important qualities. Also, I love animals! A small well-trained small-med dog is welcome. There is a monthly pet fee.

The apartment is in a lovely complex, which has an elevator, gym, designated parking, a swimming pool, outdoor seating areas with beautiful views of the mountains. The views and sunsets are really lovely. There is laundry on site and your own covered parking space right outside the building on the floor below. The office manager is great and responds to requests promptly. The property is very clean and well kept.

Location

The apartment is located close to downtown Glendale, grocery stores, pharmacy, bakeries, etc. If you enjoy hiking and nature, the unit is an 8 minute drive to a trailhead at the foot of the Verdugo Mountains. It’s also 10 minutes away from Silverlake and Echo Park, and 15-20 minutes to downtown (depending on traffic) .
