Looking for someone to fill the second bedroom in my 2BR/1BA apartment in Torrance. Ideal move-in is October 1, though I have some flexibility after September 15.

Rent: $1,125/month
Deposit: $1,125
Utilities: Around $130/month
Lease: Month-to-month, but I’m looking for at least a 90-day commitment and ideally someone long-term
No pets

About me: I’m a mid-20s femme-presenting queer person, visual artist, freelancer, and 6 years sober. I’m somewhere between a homebody and a social butterfly. I like thrifting, interior design, DIY projects, cooking, organizing, reading, podcasts, nature, having friends over for dinner/movies, etc. I’m basically Type A in a Type B body.

What I’m looking for: I’m looking for someone who wants an actual home and roommate relationship, not just a place to sleep and eat. Ideally we genuinely like each other and become friends while still having our own lives. Big compatibility things for me are reciprocity, accountability, humility, direct communication, proactivity, honesty, and respect for boundaries. I keep the apartment clean and organized and want someone who contributes to the household without needing to be managed. This is a sober, non-420, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent-friendly household. If you’re sober/in recovery yourself, I’m looking for at least 2 years of established sobriety. I am not considering straight cis men as roommates. Trans men, mascs, gay cis men, and visiting partners/boyfriends are completely fine.

About the apartment: The apartment is ground-floor, furnished except for the available bedroom, with a full kitchen, living/dining area, projector + sound system, balcony, shared bathroom, and complex pool. No AC, but there are ceiling fans and we get a decent coastal breeze. Street parking is available, plus there’s a paid public lot literally around the corner that can be shared if wanted.

Next steps: I have a detailed write-up with the apartment info, ideally shared agreements/standards, logistics, finances, and application process that I can send upon request. I’d rather give all of that upfront than make us spend an hour going through the same roommate-interview questions over and over. (If we do meet in person, I’d rather focus on any nuances, getting to know each other, and seeing if we actually click.)
