Hello potential housemate!

I am looking for someone to join our intentional living household at Casa Hendie. This is not just a room rental, it is more like becoming a part of our community and helping keep the home a safe, supportive, mutually respectful space. If that resonates, I would love to meet you.

Move in is available August 1st. I’m looking for at least 6 months.

Room and rent...
The room is sunny and furnished, about 130 sq ft, with a full size bed, desk, dresser, window air conditioning, and a ceiling fan.

Rent is $950 per month for one person, or $1250 per month for two people. Utilities are usually around $70 to $105 per month depending on usage.

Deposit is $475 single, or $625 double.

What comes with it...
WiFi and use of common areas. Washer and dryer available for weekly use. Household basics like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, natural cleaning supplies, a community food shelf, plus a monthly house cleaning service.

Even with a cleaning service, everyone keeps the home tidy and cleans up promptly, and we share responsibility for common area upkeep.

The house and vibe...
Casa Hendie is an owner occupied, non smoking home in the hub of the San Gabriel Valley in Baldwin Park, 91706. We are international and LGBTQIA plus friendly. Our household has included folks from a wide range of ages and backgrounds, including scientists, engineers, journalists, musicians, actors, students, and more. We also occasionally host guests, so there may be extra people around at times.

House features include four bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, a living room and den, a fully equipped kitchen, yard space with patio, BBQ, fire pit, and yard bicycle parking. Street parking is readily available, and in yard parking can sometimes be accommodated.

Neighborhood and getting around...
The area is very walkable with grocery stores, drug stores, dollar stores, eateries, banks, a Starbucks, a park, the post office, and multiple bus lines and the MetroLink Train within about a 7 to 15 minute walk. Major freeways are nearby, and DTLA and Pasadena are reachable within reasonable driving times depending on traffic.

* Non smokers only, including no cigarettes, e cigarettes, cigars, and no vaping
* Stable and verifiable income
* Occasional overnight guests with notice
* A tidy, organized, considerate way of living that respects shared space
* You must read, understand, and follow the household etiquette guide
