Hi there, I’m looking for a roommate to take 1bed/1bath in my 2bed/2bath apartment in South Berkeley. Close to Ashby BART. This space is perfect for a person looking for privacy within a shared space. An introverts dream! ▪️Semi private unfurnished living/dining room. Each rooommate gets their own living room. Yours would be semi-private because I will be walking through to use the kitchen. See pics.

Details About The Apartment: This a 2nd floor apartment with stairs. Part of a two level 4plex. The apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms plus two living/dining room spaces. The only shared space with me is the kitchen. No laundry in unit, but there is a laundry mat behind the building that’s only a 2 min walk. (Rinse laundry delivery picks up here too) There is private parking at the back of the house that is hidden from the street. Parking is shared with 4plex tenants. Each apartment gets their own dedicated spot.

Location: South Berkeley. Safe & friendly neighborhood. Close to Ashby Bart (7 min walk) and major bus lines. Access to shared bikes a few houses down. We have a small private neighborhood park a few houses down too, plus many public parks within walking distance. Walking distance to supermarkets like Berkeley Bowl & Whole Foods. Safeway & Trader Joe’s are a lil further but still walkable. Close corner stores, restaurants and cafes. Also close: yoga studios, community centers/activities. Weekly farmers market around corner (5 min walk). 1.5 miles to UC Berkeley: an easy walk or hop on BART (1 stop) or bus. Easy commute to San Francisco via BART (25ish mins). Walkable to Rockridge. Piedmont is a 15 min bus ride. Walk score of: 95.

Looking For: Independent, quiet, and considerate roommate that keeps spaces tidy. Communicates compassionately and maturely. Likes a chill atmosphere. Ok that meat is cooked in the shared kitchen. Keeps shared kitchen clean after cooking or food prep. Respectful of the property and with neighbors. Non smoker. No pets per the landlord. No couples. Great rental/payment history.

Current Roommate: I’m a 39 year old woman working in non-profit sector remotely. Independent, quiet, introverted. Omnivore. Spiritually minded, meditator, and passionate about social justice. I have an emotionally demanding job so afterwork I tend to keep it low key and relax. Also like to keep my social activities outside of the house for that reason. We will vibe well if you also see your living space as a sanctuary and a place to recharge.

Process: Tour of the space and compatibility chat with me. If all goes well, will have you fill out a rental application and landlord will do a background and financial check.

Move-In Details & Costs: Move in date: April 1st. Earlier may be possible too. Signing a year lease, long term beyond the yearly lease most welcome.
Move in cost: 1st month rent + 1 month deposit.
Rent: $1365 (w/o shared utilities) paid to landlord directly via Venmo.
Shared utilities: PGE and Sonic Fiber internet.
