Hey guys! Looking for a queer male roommate to join me in a newly renovated whole-floor loft in an old industrial building in Williamsburg. Elevator opens directly into the apartment. Soaring ceilings, exposed windows on both the north and south sides, art covering every wall. I recently had a break up and it's a kind of a lot apartment for one guy.
Your room: Queen-size Murphy bed that folds up into the wall — so the room doubles as an open floor space when you want it (yoga, painting, whatever your thing is). Room for a dresser, a large closet, plus extra storage above the closet. Dedicated heat/air-conditioning for your room.
The apartment: Technically 3 bedrooms total. I'm in one (king bed), the third is my home office, which I use about half the week for work-from-home. South-facing windows look out toward the Williamsburg Bridge — you'll hear a little train and traffic at night, but it settles into white noise fast (took me about one night to stop noticing it and start liking it).
This apartment is a real gathering space for queer community — I regularly host gay salons, parties, and book talks here, and a lot of the art on the walls reflects that (unapologetically male, unapologetically gay). If that's not your scene, this probably isn't the room for you. If it is, you'd be moving into a place with a built-in community.
About me: I'm a 44-year-old gay man loving his space, hosting gatherings, travel quite a bit, and loving my very tall chihuahua named Lady.
Who I'm looking for: A gay man who's excited about living in an unapologetically gay male space — a lot of gay male-centric art on the walls, and a lot of *wink wink* gay male gatherings, if you know what I mean. Someone who's either in New York for an artistic pursuit or just genuinely loves this neighborhood. I know moving in with a stranger is a leap — but you're not just getting a room, you're getting some built-in community and a home base in one of the best pockets of the city.
If this sounds like your kind of place, reach out — happy to answer questions or set up a time to see it.
