Room for Rent in 4BR/2BA Apartment – Brooklyn
We have one room available in our 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. The room is for one person only.
A bit about us:
We're a group of three women in our late 20s to 30s (Asian and Caucasian), working in design and engineering. We're pretty laid-back overall, but we care a lot about keeping our shared spaces clean and tidy. This is also a no-outside-shoes household.
Location:
The apartment is less than a block from the 59th Street subway station in Brooklyn, with access to the N (express) and R (local) trains. It’s about 30 minutes to Canal Street and 40 minutes to Times Square.
There’s a laundromat just a block away, and plenty of restaurants, delis, supermarkets, and even a post office within a couple blocks.
About the Room:
- Around 80 sq ft, street-facing
- 1 window, 1 small closet
- Unfurnished but might be able to provide basic furniture if needed
- Fits up to a full-size bed plus a desk
The Apartment:
The kitchen has everything you need—dining table, chairs, microwave, stove, and fridge. Everyone gets their own pantry cabinet, so storage hasn’t been an issue. There’s also a shared living room in the center of the apartment, with two bedrooms and a bathroom on each side, which gives everyone a bit of space and privacy.
Utilities & Rent:
- Internet is included
- Utilities (gas/electric) are separate and range from $38–$160/month depending on the season
- Rent is due on the 25th of each month
- Move-in requires first month’s rent and one month’s deposit (refundable as long as there's no damage when you move out)
Who We're Looking For:
We're hoping to find a clean, respectful female roommate who doesn’t bring overnight guests—this is a must for us.
Ideally, you:
- Tidy up after yourself
- Are willing to share cleaning duties (like bathrooms and kitchen)
- Respect shared spaces and keep noise down during quiet hours
Just to be clear: cleanliness is important in our home, and we want to be upfront that it’s something we really value.
Quick note about space:
Since there are four bedrooms, we sometimes get asked if it ever feels crowded. Thankfully, it hasn’t! With two bathrooms, the ratio works out fine—and if one is in use, you can use the other. Kitchen time rarely overlaps since we all have different schedules and tend to keep meals simple. Plus, the layout of the apartment makes it feel more spacious—you don’t often run into people who live on the opposite side.
What’s needed to move in:
- 2 photo IDs (1 government-issued)
- Social Security number
- Proof of income (W-2, 4 recent pay stubs, 4 recent bank statements)
Interested?
Send me a message with a little about yourself and your availability for a viewing. I’m showing the room this week—virtual or in-person can be arranged.
I may not be able to respond to everyone due to the number of messages I get, but thank you so much for your interest!
