Brooklyn Factory Loft

Ad ref# 100064250

Looking for a roommate to share a furnished loft warehouse apartment; located in the old ‘Monarch Luggage’/‘American Stopper Factory’.

About the Loft:
* Bright and airy space with 12-foot ceilings. The location is super quiet, and Coffey Park is directly opposite the front of the building on Verona St.
* Passenger elevator. Freight elevator also available upon request.
* 360° Rooftop views of Brooklyn and Manhattan
* You will rent one large, unfurnished bedroom of approx. 10ft x 16ft. and about 160sqft. You may paint and build it out how you like—literally—I built my bedroom.
* Open dining with a large French chandelier and railway sleeper dining table—seats six—potentially eight.
* The kitchen is open plan with a standard refrigerator, gas stove and microwave.
* Private outdoor terrace for gardening and laying about in the sun with wine and a book.
*. Large, bright and modern subway tile bathroom with bathtub.
* Original wooden factory floors that creak in all the right places.
*. Windows all around the loft provide an abundance of natural light and excellent cross ventilation in the warmer months. All windows have screens and coverings for privacy.
* Central radiator heating/ Box A/C in bedrooms.
* Wireless Spectrum Internet.
* HUGE communal courtyard for bicycle, motorcycle or scooter storage.
*. Package delivery room.
* Recycling and trash receptacles on each floor.
 There is also a communal vegetable garden, flower garden and BBQ area. You can pretty much set up what you want out there.
*. There are two industrial-sized washers and dryers on each floor.

About me:
I'm Zane—48yo, gay, white, male. I’m employed full-time as a Career Coach, take college credits in the evenings, and volunteer at the Red Hook Community Justice Center doing peace-circle work; a form of restorative justice.

When not working and studying, I like to cycle, read, meditate, work out, see art, plays, operas, performance-art, ballet, watch movies, listen to music, Zoom faraway family & friends, drink all kinds of tea, amble the streets, hang in the parks, swim at the beach, people watch, and travel. I am very well-travelled. Most, but not all of the aforementioned, currently happens from home. I have a desk set up at the kitchen table from 8-5 pm, M-F. Hopefully, not for too much longer, but does anybody know?

I am inoculated against COVID—a card-carrying double vaccinee. I am still super-careful. I have a wicked sense of humour, hold no punches and way too old for nonsense. Let's talk when we need to, see what’s up, and keep it moving. I am open and communicative.

About You:
You're of any race, age, sex, orientation, etc. You're mature (of mind, not necessarily years) and responsible (whatever you do in the common areas of the loft—you leave it as you found it). You're good-natured—that’s broad, but having a sense of humour is desirable.

The loft is spacious, but with two bedrooms and the rest of it open space, it’s a small world after all—sorry, no couples.

Having a clean and tidy home is essential to you and me—your room is the exception, as is mine. :)

You are financially secure, and you like to cover your rent and bills five days before the due dates each month. A security deposit of 1 month ($1650) + 1 month in advance ($1650) - Total of $3300 is required to sign. Be honest, sincere and a good communicator, and we'll get on very well.

You smoke/vape weed in your room with the door closed or on the terrace—tobacco—outside only.

At this point, if you’re still interested, tell me about you?

It'd be good to know who you are, what you do for work, what you enjoy doing in your spare time, your schedules, things you love, stuff you hate, and any other details that may lead to us having an in-person conversation and viewing of the loft.
