Move in April 16th month to month sublet. Our home is in Flatbush/Crown Heights aka “PLG” area. Off the 2/5 and Q/B. Ten minutes from Prospect Park and the Botanic Gardens. 30 minutes to the Brooklyn Museum. Near Western Beef and soon to be Lidl supermarkets. Rent is $900 including utilities for internet, power and gas. Heat is covered by the landlord. One month security plus $500 to move in and 2 references. The room itself is frickin' adorable if you trick it out. Not huge, it's about 9'x 10' x 14' and roughly L shaped. It fits a full sized bed and a desk and has a clothing rack but no closet.
There are three people total in the apartment. Myself. My musical theater/jock roommate and perhaps you. We're both BiPoC Queers. There is one cat, Minnie: Very Loud at 6 a. m. It really helps to be a deep sleeper or an early riser here. Also one hyper but friendly Jack Russell/Chihuahua mixed doggo. You gotta like dogs and if you do, I promise you'll enjoy this one. Please lord no more pets. These two barely get along as it is. Animal lovers are welcome. All others, or those with pets will not be considered.
I am a 50 year old queer disabled cis woman so I'm home most of the time dealing with a spinal injury. I have a home attendant who comes during the week to do housework and errands, so the home is also a work space during weekdays. Due to allergies, strong fragrances in cleaning products or beauty products can't be used here. Stuff like Gain, Fabuloso, and strong perfumes are not welcome. Bad for pets too tbh.
The bathroom by NYC standards is normal: worn but everything works! We have a bidet…. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware. The stove is slightly problematic but totally usable.
You: Must have a job or a hustle. Like pay stubs and all. 420 fine, drinking whatevs, smoking tobacco--outside. We take turns doing dishes, recycling, buying tp, and housework. It is preferable that you are reasonably neat, and do not use harsh chemicals or excessive perfumes. Gross unholy messes are Not acceptable, creative holy messes are perfection itself. All I ask is that you have the capacity to create clean clear surfaces and that you don't leave food in your room or steal stuff. We aim to have fun and be friendly. Are you our new roomie?
