Short-Term House Share 1 Block from Prospect Park!
Hello!
I'm Stefan. My roommate is moving back to Japan so a room is now available in our Brooklyn 3 Bedroom houseshare starting March 1st for minimum 1 month and maximum 6 month stay.
I'm a laidback writer and artist who works for nonprofits (M, 41) and my roommate Lucy (F, 35) is a social worker and student. We are liberal, easygoing, non-smokers, and respectful of each others energy and space. We're both always open for friendly chats in our large kitchen but don't host many parties or play any loud music. I do have a projector so sometimes we have a few people over to screen movies or hang out on the front stoop. We both come and go a lot and I also work from home some days so I prefer roommates who are similarly busy and don't WFH full-time.
We are located half a block from the Parkside Avenue subway station (Q Train) which gets you to Union Square in less than 20 minutes and the beaches of Coney Island in less than 30 minutes, and we are just one block away from beautiful Prospect Park. Our house, an 100-year old brownstone, is at the end of a dead-end street with a nice stoop covered in plants. The neighborhood of Prospect Lefferts Gardens/Flatbush has many excellent restaurants and cafes.
The room in question is large and round and will come furnished with a queen-sized bed, mattress, desk, chair, and light. It has a door at the back and a small patio that overlooks the Parkside Avenue subway station. We hear the train quite a bit if the window is open but I've had lots of roommates over the years and no one has had any issues with sleeping. Just know that in case you're an especially light sleeper.
There's a tidy bathroom and large, sunny kitchen with a gas stovetop and a shelf where you can store your food and, of course, a refrigerator.
After having some roommates who I cohabitated with for years I'm currently prioritizing roommate stays of 1-6 months rather than open-ended contacts. So the room is perfect if you're coming to New York for a job or internship or study program for a period of a few months. The place is also perfect if you're artistic and a bit of a hippie at heart. It's old so we fix and update a lot of things ourselves and we've had many cool and creative roommates over the years who have left their mark on the space in different ways and who were great to get to know.
OK send me a message with a bit of information about you and what your life is like in New York and how long you are seeking a place for and let's talk!
Cheers,
Stefan
