Room for Rent

We are looking for a third roommate for our 3 bedroom Bed-Stuy apartment. The room available is 150 Sq ft. It’s bright with big windows, tall ceilings and hardwood floors.

Our new lease begins 11/01/26 but if you're approved, you could move in soon as you like as our previous roommate has already moved out.

The way our apartment is laid out, each of the rooms is pretty separated from the others. One of the other rooms has an ensuite half bath, so there's essentially no fighting over the bathroom as you’ll mostly only have to share it with one other person. We also live on the top floor of our building, and this room sits away from the street, so generally it’s pretty quiet. There's no common living area, however the kitchen is spacious and we also have rooftop access.

The building has washers and dryers in the basement. As far as the neighborhood goes, there’s a few bodegas, coffee shops, and a handful of new restaurants that have been popping up over the last year. We are a 7 minute walk from the C Train, 10 minutes from the J and about 20 minutes from the L.

Your roommates would be Joshua and Elissa (I'm Joshua by the way). Both of us are very friendly but we also stay busy and tend to keep to ourselves a bit. With the rooms being separated, it can at times create the illusion that you live alone, but you just so happen to have two friendly neighbors who live down the hall :)

Josh is 36. He is a filmmaker and bartender. He spends a good about of time at coffee shops writing screenplays, or at the bar with friends. When at home, he is usually found listening to music (with headphones), editing, drawing, or watching films. Other interests include, books, video games, museums and generally all things creative and arty.

Elissa is 35, an educator and artist who spends their time tutoring children and working fun freelance gigs. At home, you can find Elissa watching video essays, playing video games, or endlessly crafting and organizing their creations. On the weekends, they are often in queer spaces socially or selling their fun designs, or quietly recharging in their room. Interests include theater, books, DIY culture, and music.

We don't currently have any pets, but Elissa is interested in maybe fostering a cat again soon, so let us know if you have any allergies.

A successful applicant will be financially stable with good credit, and able to contribute to one-third of the monthly bills in a timely fashion. We ask that you’re courteous of common spaces within the apartment and the building. Music, TV, and guests kept to a respectful volume. We're hoping to find someone cool, chill, and respectful to join us and hopefully that's you!
