Two rooms, ensuite, in beautiful Victorian home

You would have two rooms on the 3rd floor and both must be rented together for $1,700. (There is no way on this website to list the two adjoining rooms’ price together so the first room is listed for $1700 as is the second room because Spare Room won't let me list the second room as $0 or the two rooms as being rented together. If it looks weird, that’s why. We aren’t renting the small room on its own as the two rooms come together. See photos.) Room#1 is a really nice medium sized room and Room#2 is the small one. Both currently have futon beds in them so you could sleep in the small room and use the larger room for work, socializing, etc.  (The only other room on the 3rd floor is set up as a gym that we use (quietly) and that you are welcome to use too.) The bigger of the two rooms we are renting has its own toilet/sink/shower. You would also be sharing the house's 1st floor which has a beautiful huge kitchen adjoining a sitting room with a Steinway grand piano, a living room with a wood burning fireplace, and a wonderful front porch. The washer/dryer on the 2nd floor is shared with you.

The street is lined with gorgeous trees and is very quiet yet it's a block from Cortelyou Road.  The neighborhood is super fun, full of restaurants and cafes as well as two amazing health food stores within minutes.  We have a driveway if you have a car although we use three spaces of the four sometimes.

We are a super friendly, interesting (hope that doesn't sound pretentious) mother (career was working for the UNICEF making films about children caught in wars and natural disasters and before that at CNN and ABC) and adult daughter (26) who are quiet yet enjoy some conversation here and there. I have a partner who is based elsewhere but who visits some of the time, and he is a quiet, friendly lovely guy.

We try to stay neat and uncluttered, put things away in the kitchen, and don't leave dirty dishes in the sink but to be transparent, we are not perfectly clean and constant mopping and vacuuming doesn't happen. Too many other good things to do in life--we're not that bad but we are probably not neurotic enough to keep a clean freak happy.
We are a 10-15 minute walk and 5 minute bike ride to 500 acre Prospect Park.  We have a garage where you can store your own bicycle and a basement where you can store stuff as well if necessary.

We have always had a dog and our current pup is a small, adorable little rescue girl from the streets of Puerto Rico.

We are looking for someone who wants to stay for a long time (at least 2 years we hope), preferably but not necessarily female, who is relaxed, considerate and friendly but is also not too intense or in your face.  One of our last roommates was nice but made a lot of noise playing video games and shouting online with his friends and we weren't too happy with that but we talked to him about it and he toned it down. Otherwise, we have lived happily and in peace with our housemates and hope to keep it that way.

REQUIREMENTS:
We need one month's rent and a month's security deposit, proof of income for the past two years, three solid references including one related to your current work  (colleague, supervisor or client--rank doesn't matter), and we will provide a standard lease for all to sign.  We would like to meet you in person at a neutral place.  In terms of checking references, we will not belabor the process or take up much time but would prefer the reference checks to be on FaceTime or zoom.
