Come and hop on the lease or sublet a room in my lovely, spacious, 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment located in Prospect Heights / Crown Heights! I’ve lived in this apartment for the past ten years, and in that time have fully furnished the space with tasteful, mid-century inspired pieces and lots of art.

The apartment comes with a fully-stocked kitchen and all of your standard appliances (microwave, blender, coffee-maker, pots and pans, etc.). One thing that I think is particularly great about the space is that there are actually two separate living rooms! The first is connected to the kitchen and contains a large dining room table; comfortable armchair seating; a record player; bar cart; and coffee table. The second living room has a large couch (which can accommodate an overnight guest); coffee table; and 50" TV + all the major streaming services. The bathroom of the apartment is large and well-ventilated, with good water pressure in the shower. Light permeates the apartment, making visible the original detailing of the hardwood floor, window trimmings, and high ceilings!

Your bedroom will come unfurnished room and can accommodate a queen-sized bed and small desk or twin-bed with bit more furniture if needed. My current roommate is also willing to sell you his bed and dresser for $200 if you want!

As I previously mentioned, I'm a 34-year-old man currently finishing up my PhD at New York University. I'm currently transitioning careers and so spend every day applying for jobs. I do this from home occasionally, but mostly from local coffeeshops and the library. I have found the apartment a perfect home base in which to work, relax, and entertain guests, and I have no problems with you using the apartment the same way. If you work from home, I am also cool with you using the dining room area as an office space during the day, so long as you keep it relatively tidy. I think you'll find that I'm an easy-going and respectful person who is happy to interact as much or as little as you'd like. I am also an LGTBQI+ ally and supporter of social, racial and economic justice.

There are so many amazing things about the neighbourhood, with dozens of great restaurants, bars, and cafes along Franklin Avenue, which is the closest major street to the apartment. We are also only a 10-minute walk to Prospect Park, with the Washington Av, Vanderbilt Av, and Flatbush Av all offering lots of things to do between our apartment and the park. If you need to commute anywhere, subway access to Manhattan is a breeze via the 4/5 express train at Franklin Av, only a 5-minute walk from the apartment, as well as the 2/3 trains at the same station. If you prefer, you could also walk 10 minutes north to take the C from a different Franklin Av station. We are 1 stop on the 4/5 to Barclays Center-Atlantic Terminal, where you can get the B/D/N/R/Q trains in addition to the 2/3/4/5. I'd be happy to show you around the neighbourhood as well, just to get you familiarized with the transit system and other amenities nearby like grocery stores and laundromats and so on.

Should you decide to take the room, the rent for each month will be $1400, which you would either Zelle to the landlord Paul on the 1st of the month if on the lease, or to me if you sublease. You will also need to provide a security deposit of $1400, returnable to you upon vacancy of the room. Your share of the apartment’s utilities (gas, electric, internet) each month would be approximately $120, which you will Venmo to me as they are all in my name.

Just some last things to note: no live-in couples please, and no pets.
