Bushwick Room for Sublease! 3bed2br w/ Deck

bushwick room sublease 11/1-flexible before 6/30

Hi! My name is Nithya Balakrishnan and I’m looking for someone to sublet my room in a 3bed2br in Bushwick (about a block from Maria Hernandez Park, halfway between Central M stop and Morgan L stop, 7 minute walk to each one). Rent is $1333 per month. $3995 in total split three ways). Con Ed varies month to month but is between $80-$130 usually. Wifi is $25 a month (Optimum, required by building management). Apartment building was built last year and we were the first tenants. Only four units in the building, always pretty quiet, with a great bodega on the first floor.

The other two roommates are Faith and Kaycee, both women in their early 20s. We met through graduate school, Faith had been living here since last year with me, and Kaycee moved in last July. We’ve gotten along great, have a cleaning routine and split house finances (cleaning and similar supplies) equally.

Must show proof of income/ability to pay the entirety of the rent and utility bills for the time you are subleasing. You’d be paying me the rent on the first of the month and I’d be paying it forward to management. We can work out utilities, since those are paid by tenants to the companies.

My room is the smallest out of the three with the biggest closet and direct access to the deck/fire escape through a locked glass door. I’ve still managed to fit plenty in my room—a full size bed, an Ikea desk and chair, a bookshelf and a night stand. The closet has lots of space as well! I get a lot of natural light in this room as well with east facing windows.

The apartment building is surrounded by several schools, a generally safe area, with a lot of families with young kids. One street back is where the nearest grocery stores are located.

Will be leaving a low to the ground metal bed frame (no headboard or mattress), a desk and chair.

Faith has a cat, Mae, so you must be willing to live with a cat. Mae is very friendly with new people and likes to play in the common spaces but mostly sticks to Faith’s room.

I am looking to start subleasing on November 1st. I am also flexible on the end date of the sublease—the lease is done on 6/30 and I am hoping to be back by then, but my situation is unclear right now. Let me know what length of time you are looking for and we can definitely work something out!
