Hi! I'm looking for someone to share my home in Bed-Stuy beginning immediately (happy to prorate August). The room is available for approximately six months, with the possibility of extending if it's a good fit for both of us.

Rent is $1,950/month, including all utilities and Verizon Fios Wi-Fi.

Ideal for a working professional, visiting academic, journalist, or anyone looking for a comfortable, furnished home rather than just a room.

The apartment

The apartment occupies the second floor of a brownstone on a quiet, tree-lined block on Putnam Avenue. It has nearly 12-foot ceilings, exposed brick, hardwood floors, lots of natural light, and a spacious, open living area.

You'll have:

- Fully furnished bedroom with a queen-size bed
- Large closet and dresser
- Bright south-facing window
- A bathroom you'll have to yourself most of the time (it's only occasionally used by guests)
- In-unit washer & dryer
- Dishwasher
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Verizon Fios Wi-Fi
- All utilities included

The room comfortably fits a queen bed, a large dresser and a small desk, while still leaving plenty of space to move around.

The apartment is about a 10-minute walk to the A/C at Nostrand and around 15 minutes to the G train. Coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, parks, and Citi Bike stations are all nearby.

About me

I'm in my 40s and work in journalism, usually from home 3-4 days a week in a separate room that's my office. I'm originally from Mexico and have lived in New York for nearly 20 years.

I enjoy cooking, traveling, and having friends over for the occasional dinner. Home is where I like to relax and recharge, so I'm hoping to find someone who appreciates a peaceful, welcoming space.

I also share the apartment with two very sweet, curious two-year-old cats, so you'll need to enjoy living with cats.

Looking for

I'm looking for someone who is respectful, communicative, and enjoys living in a peaceful shared home.

A few things that are important:

- Comfortable living with cats.
- Shoe-free apartment.
- Because I have celiac disease, I ask that there be no baking with wheat flour in the apartment. Eating gluten is absolutely fine; I simply ask that people be mindful of crumbs and clean up after themselves in the kitchen.
- We both pitch in to keep the shared spaces tidy, whether that's cleaning up after ourselves, taking out the trash, or helping with the occasional household chore.
