Room plus bath in sunny, spacious Bed Stuy apt

Room + bathroom for rent in a spacious, sunny Bed Stuy apartment a 7 min walk from the Bedford-Nostrand and Myrtle-Willoughby Gs. B38 and B54 buses also right here. Very central neighborhood.

The lease runs until Nov. 31st. but will likely extend.

Space: Apt is around 1000sq feet - a full floor. 2nd floor, no elevator.

No laundry on-site, but there's a laundromat across the street with the sweetest owners and they offer v. reasonable wash-and-fold they do themselves.

Large windows. My room is on the way opposite side of the apartment (I'm the only roommate).

The available room would fit a queen, but l'd suggest a full-sized bed for more space. On the smaller side. You can also add furniture on that side of the house (a desk or bookshelf etc.) - again, the apartment itself is a v large spot with no shared walls, privacy, and room to play. Decent-sized closet.

There are two baths — you'd have exclusive access to the lovely main bathroom in the hallway, which *has a bathtub*!

Cats: I have an incredibly sweet and affectionate cat, Punky. I keep all his cat stuff (food, litter) on my side of the apartment, but he will say hi! No other animals allowed.

You are: kind, considerate, easy to communicate with, independent, collaborative, and have an active life. You're politically left and care about your impact in the world (I'd prefer to share basic values with someone who shares my space), but you don't take yourself too seriously.

Someone who has their own active, creative life and self-care practice will prob be happiest here. I’m a little woo woo (10 years in the Bay Area will do that) — you don’t have to be, but I do need you to be emotionally regulated and aware. Grownups only, please!

I’m warm, friendly, creative, politically conscious, silly, and a huge nerd. I love lit, comedy, theater, philosophy, music, and art. I’m an open and generous person, but I expect reciprocity, clear communication, and respect.

During the day, I write for a company (wfh), and I'm usually writing or out doing comedy at night. I'm currently developing / staging a show, so I'm generally locked in and not super available to hang atm, but I appreciate a friendly and genuine chat and good energy matters to me. I am a comedian, so like, expect me to be a little wisecracking, but in a down-to-earth way. Not home to do jazz hands.

I love people but also need a lot of solo time and space to create and be, hence this apartment!

That said, I’ll be out performing for a solid chunk of time over the next few months.

My walls are currently bare but I’m planning to put up art.

The place is probably more suitable for folks who work outside the home day-to-day or most days, but it really depends.
