1 Br in Large 2 Br for Rent by Yankee Stadium
Looking for a Roommate in an Awesome Prewar Building | Big Sunny Space | Subway on the Block
Let's skip to the good stuff: you walk half a block, hop the train, and you're at Washington Square Park in 30 minutes. When you’re coming home, it’s to a huge renovated 2B prewar with windows in every room (including the kitchen and bathroom), 2 big closets in each room, another 2 in the common areas for storage, and a view out to the historic Andrew Freedman mansion.
Your Future Roommate
I'm Ron, and I work in education as a Director of Human Resources for some charter schools in the NYC area. I am gay and have a partner. I also play LGBTQIA sports in a local league, and I just love having fun and going out with friends. I work from home 2-3 days a week, and I have a small dog named Carter (he is 9 years old, very friendly, and loves to cuddle).
The Apartment
Fully renovated two-bedroom at 1100 Grand Concourse — and it's big. We're talking a 21-foot living/dining room with nearly 9-foot ceilings, wide-plank floors, and afternoon light all day.
• Kitchen: White shaker cabs, quartz counters, full stainless steel, including dishwasher.
• Bedroom: 15+ feet, king-sized, tucked away from the living area, two closets in the room
• Bathroom: Windowed, marble tile, glass-enclosed tub
• Laundry: In the basement (and fun fact: we're the only building in the Grand Concourse Historic District that allows in-unit W/D hookups)
The view? Your windows look directly onto the Andrew Freedman Home — a neo-Renaissance landmark across the street. It never gets old.
The Building & Community
Built in 1928, this co-op has real character — and a wonderful community to match. Neighbors include longtime residents (some 30+ years!), LGBTQ+ folks, families, young professionals — genuinely good people who look out for each other. It's quiet, respectful, and the kind of building where you actually know your neighbors.
What You'll Need
• First, last & security upfront
• Co-op board application (credit check + employment verification required)
The landlord is looking for someone respectful who wants to does not cause a disturbance with the neighbors, as this is a co-op. Also, someone with decent credit and 40x the rent, so a minimum of $78,000 a year in income.
