Located in the Wakefield section of the Bronx, just a 7-minute walk from the 241st Street stop on the 2/5 subway line. This 221 sq. ft. room is situated in the sub-level of a two-family home and comes furnished with a queen-size bed, one dresser, a small reclining chair, a closet space under the staircase, a microwave, and a mini fridge.
Shared Living Arrangements:
The bathroom, kitchen, and other common areas are shared with the homeowner, who is a live-in landlord. The house also features a backyard and a deck, which are accessible to the tenant.

House Rules:
No guests or sleepovers
No smoking of any kind (including marijuana)
No vaping, bongs, or pipes
No pets
Note: Although this is a pet-friendly household, the landlord owns a young Spaniel-Dachshund mix who doesn’t get along with other animals but is very friendly toward humans.
Tenant Requirements:
Must be responsible, clean, respectful, and gainfully employed. That could be one full-time job, or multiple gigs, it doesn’t matter, as long as the rent can be paid on time.
Must provide proof of income (1 month of recent paystubs and/or an employment letter with contact info for verification)
Two previous, verifiable landlord or roommate references are required
May be subject to a background check prior to move-in
Rental Details:
No broker fee — rented directly by the homeowner
Move-in costs: First week’s rent + two weeks' security deposit
For long-term stays: First month’s rent + one month’s security deposit
Long-term arrangements can be discussed during the interview
This space is ideal for a working professional or a student, working part-time who can afford the rent.
Although the images are indicative of an “apartment with a threatening aura” I promise you, it’s not. The room is located in the sub-level of the home so the lack of natural light affects the quality of the images. It’s a safe space, I lived here after escaping from a domestic violence incident. It’s a great starter living space with a landlord who is kind, in her 50s, and as a mom, she may offer to feed you now and then.
Rent Payment:
Rent is due by 9 a. m. every Sunday, or by 9 a. m. on the 1st of the month for long-term tenants. Payment accepted via cash, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.
