Quiet neighborhood, convenient to shopping and entertainment. Centrally situated to major roadways like the 303 & 101. There’s a brand new shopping center that has everything you need/want/thought about trying, including Costco, furniture stores, a plethora of fast food restaurants and conventional sit down dining. Arcades, movies, Walmart, coffee shops, and the discounted stores like Marshals Ross, and TJ Maxx. Oh and let’s not forget about Target and Aldi’s. All newly opened on Waddle and the 303.
By me, aside from the grocery stores, we have Home Depot and Lowe’s, Walmart, Michael’s plus AMC, arcades, and a variety of different restaurants.
The house has security cameras inside (public space only, except for my area), and outside. Gated property, no pool but Surprise town pool is 5 minutes away.
Room is fully furnished, has a flat screen television, wi-if, and plenty of storage. The bathroom is yours, and except for the rare occasions when I have a guest. Laundry on premises, along with a completely functional kitchen. You are responsible for cleaning your spaces, though I tend to share bathroom cleaning duties out of habit. I split the cost of cleaning supplies, bathroom supplies, etc. Laundry detergent must have the He symbol on it, and nothing else is allowed to be used. I can laugh about it now but it wasn’t funny at the time.
Street parking, and security cameras are installed. The lock on the front door is supposed to be smart. The jury is still out on that. Alexa is employed as more of a concierge than any else, though she tends to be snippy when she is called Siri.
The room has all necessary bedding for comfort. I have several sets of sheets, heavy blankets, light comforters, and bedspread for the nights that start warm then get chilly.
There’s plenty of towels of various sizes, and the bathroom was recently redone. I have everything needed to keep it clean located under the sink.
I ask that the bedroom is cleaned on a weekly basis, trash emptied especially when there’s takeout food involved.
I am absolutely firm on no hard alcohol or drugs usage. Past experience with a few tenants have brought me to the realization that I don’t tolerate drunks well, if at all.
Smoking cigarettes/cigars/pipes is a no. My dad once smoked a pipe and I still remember the rich cherry bourbon scent from his after dinner smoke, but remembering and reliving it are two different things.
If you vape, or smoke weed, it’s outside please. I have a grandson who has asthma.
I live in a one level ranch style house. I am retired due to disability but I am fiercely independent. I do fostering for local shelters, taking care of cats displaced temporarily due to unforeseen circumstances, but allowing them to be reunited with their families when things are resolved. A sad reality for many, but hopefully one that I can make a small impact on.
I am also a type A person when it comes to cleaning. Some people clean for guests. I prefer keeping my house clean for me. (And those who live here). So if you’re not into cleaning, I offer those services. But if you’re content to clean occasionally, wash your sheets on the days it rains in the valley? Or not worry about cleaning up the kitchen after using it?

I am looking for a professional person who is comfortable with conversation, and is looking for a home style setting in which to live. Someone who is respectful with boundaries, and who can communicate well if necessary, should they have concerns. I’m not looking for someone who can cook or bake. I can do both. I’m not looking for anyone who works from home full time or plans on overnight guests, be it children or a partner. I prefer to keep things simple and straightforward. While I have the ability to rent to two tenants, having done that, I would prefer to eliminate all source of potential stresses that could arise from three people sharing the same house, such as bathroom cleaning duties, missing food, and noisy roommates.
My current roommate is leaving in July, and will be missed. We have developed a wonderful relationship which I hope will happen with my new roommate.
