T nice thing about this apartment is my first month of rent isn’t due until January!
That being said, since the lease technically started when I moved in, I’d just ask that if you’re planning to move in, you help cover half of the move-in costs. The girl who was supposed to move in backed out the day of, so I got stuck paying about $3,100 upfront that I definitely wasn’t prepared for 😅
Here’s how it breaks down: • Move-in costs: $3,105 total → $1,552.50 each • Renter’s insurance: $175 total → $87 each (one-time fee) • Electric setup: $290 total → $145 each (one-time fee)
So your total move-in cost would be $1,784. (I wouldn’t charge you for utilities, internet, or amenities from Oct–Dec if you wouldn’t be living here yet — this would just cover what it cost me to get the keys.)
Then starting in January, monthly rent would look like: • Base rent: $927 • Internet: $21 • Amenities: $25 • Utilities: varies, but I’m on an energy-saving plan!
So total monthly would be around $1,050 give or take.
