Private Room for Rent – Quiet, Clean Household (Month-to-Month)

We’re looking for someone who values a peaceful, respectful, and clean home. This isn’t a party house or a place for lots of guests. We’re hoping to find someone who naturally keeps shared spaces tidy and is considerate of the people they live with.

About us

The home is shared by me, my husband Matt, our 3-month-old son Atlas, our longtime roommate Jen, and one friendly cat.

We’ve lived in this home for about four years and rent from our landlord. Jen has lived with us for about a year and a half and is wonderful to live with. She has two teenagers (16 and 19) who are here every other week. They’re quiet, respectful, and usually spend their time in their room.

Our cat is friendly but occasionally has loud meowing sessions for a few minutes at a time.

About the room

* Private bedroom.
* Month-to-month rental only.
* We may move within the next 6–12 months, so we’re not looking for a long-term lease.
* No additional storage outside of your bedroom.
* You’ll have one designated kitchen cabinet, refrigerator/freezer space, and your bedroom closet.

Bathroom

You’ll have the downstairs half bathroom almost exclusively for yourself (toilet and sink).

The upstairs full bathroom (shower/bathtub) is shared only for showering. The toilet in that bathroom is reserved for Jen, as it’s been her bathroom since before we rented this room. We ask that showers be coordinated respectfully with Jen, especially during the weeks her children are here.

House Rules

These are important to us. If these sound normal to you, we’ll probably get along great.

* Shoes stay off inside the house.
* Clean up immediately after cooking.
* Wash and put away anything you use.
* Please don’t leave dishes, food, trash, or personal belongings in shared spaces.
* Keep your bedroom clean to help avoid odors or pests.
* Be respectful of shared refrigerator and freezer space.

Kitchen & Household Supplies

The room rental does not include shared household supplies.

Please provide your own:

* Cookware and kitchen utensils
* Plates, bowls, cups, etc.
* Dish soap
* Spices and food
* Paper towels
* Laundry supplies
* Toiletries

Please don’t use items that belong to us or Jen unless you’ve specifically asked first.

Trash bags for the house are provided.

Utilities

Utilities are included as long as usage remains reasonable.

Because we’re on a time-of-use electric plan, we ask that Monday through Friday between 4:00–7:00 PM you avoid using high-electricity appliances such as:

* Washer and dryer
* Oven
* Long showers when possible

If someone consistently uses electricity during peak hours, we’ll likely ask them to contribute toward the additional cost.

Parking

The neighborhood is very safe and quiet.

Parking is available on the neighborhood street nearby. Unfortunately, the driveway and garage are not available for tenant parking.

Pets

We already have one cat, and no additional pets can be accommodated.

A few things to know about living here

We’re a real family, not a staged Airbnb.

Our baby cries sometimes because… he’s a baby.

Matt smokes MJ outside only, though he sometimes comes back inside coughing afterward.

Like any family, we occasionally have disagreements, but we value kindness and respect in our home.

Who we’re looking for

Someone who:

* Pays rent on time.
* Has stable income.
* Is respectful, honest, and communicative.
* Naturally cleans up after themselves.
* Doesn’t expect a social house but enjoys a calm environment.
* Understands they’re renting a room in someone else’s family home.

We’re not looking for perfection, and our home isn’t perfect either. We simply want someone who appreciates living with people who respect each other’s space and effort.
