Bright and cheerful room seeks delightful human

We're looking for a lovely human (or couple) to share our house in Rockridge.

We live on a tree-lined residential street tucked between College Ave and Broadway, one block from restaurants, bars, and shops. BART is less than an 8 minute walk. Temescal is a ~15 minute walk or a quick bike ride, and UC Berkeley is straight up College Ave. We're close to the hustle and bustle, but our little corner of Rockridge is quiet and neighborhood-y which is how we like it.

We are two pals in our early 30s and an eccentric orange tabby cat named Esme. Esme is a delight, but she doesn't get along with other animals. Sadly, this means that we can't accept pets.

Our home is in transition as our beloved long-term housemates have moved into their next chapter. We're rebuilding our home one room at a time - while there's two of us now, we can't wait to have 5(ish) humans sharing our home again soon. Ideally, we're hoping to find someone(s) who is interested in becoming a core member of the house and loving it just as much as we do.
We've all lived in communal housing before and this is by far our favorite house.

While our home is in transition, we love the culture we've been able to build together. Here are some things we've learned over the last couple of years and hope to have again in our home:

The energy in the house is friendly and laid back. We aren't big party people, but we love to entertain, talk, and be merry. We also love being outside and take lots of excursions together. We have different levels of extroversion/introversion and respect each other's needs, but a person who enjoys house meals and making friends will be happiest here.
We enjoy taking care of our house and making it a space that everybody wants to spend time in. We keep the house clean and organized, and are often working on improvement projects. That said, life happens and that's cool.

Regular house meetings are helpful! We approach this with intentionality and value open communication. It's not ideological, it just helps the house run better.

The room is an upstairs bedroom in our four-bedroom home. It has good natural light and is a comfortable size for a bed, desk, and storage. You'll share a bathroom with other housemates.

The house is a 2,400 sqft, 4 bed/2.5 bath Rockridge craftsman with hardwood floors. All bedrooms are located upstairs. Downstairs is a large living room, dining room, half-bath/laundry room, and eat-in kitchen. The kitchen is fully loaded with a gas range, dishwasher, big pantry, etc. We've installed a mesh router system so you get strong wifi signal everywhere in the house - even the backyard!

We love our outdoor space and spend a lot of time there as a house. In the summer we love to eat outside and sit around the fire. Our resident gardener has moved on, so bonus points if you want to get your hands dirty in the garden!

The room costs $1,600/month plus utilities which average $80-100 per person. Ideal move-in is May 15th through June 1st. This is a four-month sublease with an option to renew.
