I'm looking to share my very large two bedroom/two bath apartment in Ivy Hill in Oakland. I am about 7 to 8 blocks (depending on which direction you go) from Lake Merritt itself. There is a bus line right in front of the building and with street parking available. As I mentioned the apartment is very large and it has a balcony overlooking the neighborhood. You can see the tall buildings of downtown Oakland in the distance. The bedroom is approximately 12' x 12' with a window and a large mirrored closet with more (shared) closet space in the hallway. There is a semi-private full bathroom. The bathroom is in the hallway so it would be the one guests would use if necessary. The room comes partially furnished with a queen-size bed, desk, and drawers. As for me, I'm an educated, VACCINATED, African-American woman in my late-40's. I'm an aspiring novelist working, but I have a day job at a non-profit. I'm pretty chill and laid-back (but not a push-over!) When I'm home, I'm usually reading, writing, or watching something. I'm friendly and like to talk, however, I like my alone time as well and am really good at picking up social cues if my roommate doesn't want to talk. :-) I'm looking for a stable, mature person as a roommate (couples are welcome, too). I highly prefer roommate references, if possible. I understand someone may not have them (e. g. has never shared an apartment before, moving from a personal long-term situation, etc.) I'd like to have someone long-term - at least six months or longer. Roommate searching is a drag and I'd like to have some stability during this unstable time. I am not looking for any particular type of person as a roommate but my six must-haves are:
Thoughtful Considerate Respectful Responsible Communicative and VACCINATED
Now for the money part! ($$) Rent is $1,350 per month. Wi-Fi and PG&E will be split either in half or in thirds (if there is a couple). There is also a cleaning person that costs $75 every two weeks. Move-In costs are the first and last month's rent and a security deposit of $600.
A pet MAY be possible. I believe there is pet rent and an extra deposit involved - that's up to management. Honestly, I'm not sure how it all works, but I can find out. If a pet is possible, I prefer a cat.
Please message if you're interested. I usually do a Zoom showing first. If that goes well, you can come and see the space in person.
