Large furnished bedroom available in a quiet/clean house in Oakland's Golden Gate neighborhood. On the border of Emeryville and Berkeley and an easy commute to San Francisco and UC Berkeley. Near BART and buses (F, 72, 88 & more). There is plenty of street parking, right near the side entry to the house. This is a great biking area too. Less than 1 flat mile to Trader Joe's, Berkeley Bowl, or Safeway.

Your room is about 15' x 15'. It has a queen bed, walk-in closet, ceiling fan, wood floors with area rugs, cafe table for work/eating, etc. You will share the kitchen and bathroom with me. The kitchen does not have a table but you are welcome to eat in your room or on the back patio when the weather is nice.

There is no access to the living/dining room because that is my living space. My area and your room are on opposite ends of the house. In between us are the entry by the side door, kitchen and bathroom. This layout gives us both privacy. We share a communal laundry room and back patio w/my brother and his wife who live in the attached house next door.

If you would like to use the wall mounted TV in your room, you will need to subscribe to cable or hook it up to your device.

The room is furnished including towels and bed linen. (I rent on AB&B when in between roommates.) Some linen is stored in the walk-in closet but there is still plenty of space for your things.

ABOUT ME
I am 61 and work from home as a management consultant for social justice organizations. Interests are hiking, history, reading, political podcasts, and animal rescue. I am friendly and easy going. I have 1 shy cat and 2 yappy chihuahuas who mainly stay in my space.

ABOUT YOU
Reasonably quiet, clean and drama free. Considerate but not a neat freak. You LOVE animals. Experience with chihuahuas is a plus, although my dogs stay in my area 90% of the time. I am open to students, retirees and everything between. Folks with an indoor-only cat who would be happy living in your room are especially welcome.

Sorry, no smoking anywhere on the property and no drugs. No regular overnight guests, but an occasional visitor is fine if discussed in advance.
