Spacious Room in Fun Artistic Loft

We're looking for a new housemate at our Artistic Loft in East Oakland for $1060 per month plus utilities. Live with only three other roommates! Available October 15th or sooner if needed. If you see this post the room has NOT been rented.

Utilities range from $60-$200/person/month, with the higher numbers for only three months (or less) each winter when we turn the heat on.

There’s a parking lot on an avenue off the main road, it is not gated.

This is a clean and well maintained unit, full of plants, good people, and natural light. We value open communication, friendship, respect, harmony, and creating a fun and beautiful living environment together.

Although we all like to party once in a while, we are hoping to connect with someone whose life does not revolve around substances, has proof of income, and is interested in contributing to weekly chores. We love your pets, and will consider a small and quiet dog or a well trained cat. If this sounds like you, check out the description below!

Beautiful, third floor, loft room (no 4th wall), with tons of space! This room is approximately 14ft x 14.5ft, has a walk in closet, tall ceilings, and three large theater curtains added for extra privacy. There are two windows and the room faces west which helps to keep it cool in the summer and provides a beautiful view of the sky during sunset. It would make a great bedroom for someone who isn’t super sensitive to noise, or a fantastic art studio or maker space.

Common Areas; Aerial rigging points (also great for advance partner acro), a 470 sq ft dedicated movement space outfitted with mirrors, a large open kitchen and dinning area for hosting dinners and cooking delicious meals, a Zendo chill space with tons of plants and natural light wonderful for meditation, reading, and hosting friends, two sets of Sonos speakers, a huge projector for movie nights, a second couch/living room area downstairs, and a cute bathroom with a larger than normal bathtub for those evenings you want to relax.

You would be sharing the space with three other housemates.

Originally from Europe, Ana is 40, uses she/her pronouns and enjoys meditating, reading, traveling, and movement art of all kinds! She works as an entertainer at children's birthday parties and corporate events throughout the Bay Area. When sharing space with others Ana values warm and open communication, a sense of community through connection, respect for people's personal space, and keeping the common areas clean and organized.

Hunter(He/Him) is 25 and comes from Big Island Hawaii. He’s been doing circus arts since he was 5, now he is a comedy juggling performer for work and travels around to do it. For fun Hunter likes to hike, practice juggling, and work on projects. Hunter is down for most conversations but is also happy to co-exist without words in the air all the time, and just be comfortable. When sharing a living space with others Hunter values open communication, empathy, and fun!

Sel (He/Him) is in his early 30s and works in mental health as an ABA therapist. Outside of work, he’s a visual artist who loves drawing and painting, playing chess, and going to live music shows. He enjoys good food and meaningful conversations, but also values his quiet downtime. In a shared home, Sel appreciates clear communication, respect, and keeping common spaces clean and welcoming, while being open to connection and community.

About the neighborhood - We live a 20 minute walk away from Fruitvale BART, along several bus routes, and close to a railway. The immediate area surrounding the building is industrial. There are many grocery stores within a short driving distance, including Trader Joes, Alameda Natural Market, Safeway, and Smart and Final. Berkley Bowl is about a 20 minute drive away depending on traffic. We are right across the bridge from Alameda, which has a beach, walking paths along the water, and lots of shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops, as well as a 20 minute drive to Redwood Regional and Joaquin Miller Parks which host miles and miles of epic hiking trails. Our neighborhood is centrally located so you can quickly hop to most areas of the Bay.
