Hi there, I’m looking for a housemate to take 1bed/1bath in my 2bed/2bath apartment in Berkeley close to Ashby BART. This space is perfect for a person looking for privacy within a shared space because you get your own living/dining room space, your own bathroom, your own parking spot and private entrance.

Who I am : I’m a 40 y/o woman working in non-profit sector remotely. Independent, quiet, introverted. Lover of plants and learning herbalism. I have an emotionally demanding job so afterwork I tend to keep it low key and relax. I like a chill atmosphere and see my living space a place to recharge.

Great Location: Berkeley right near the North Oakland/Rockridge border. Safe and friendly neighborhood. Close to Ashby Bart (7 min walk) and major bus lines. Many public parks within walking distance. Walking distance to supermarkets like Berkeley Bowl and Whole Foods. Safeway and Trader Joe’s are a lil further but still walkable. Walking distance to corner stores, restaurants and cafes. Also close: yoga studios, community centers, theater, community gardens, and social activities. Weekly farmers market around corner (5 min walk).

1.5 miles to UC Berkeley: an easy walk or hop on BART (1 stop) or bus. Easy commute to San Francisco via BART (25ish mins). Walkable to Rockridge. Piedmont is a 15 min bus ride. Lake Merritt (Grand Theater side near all shops) is a 20 min bus ride. Walk score of: 95.

More Details about Apartment: This a top floor apartment with stairs. Two entrances one at the back and the front of the house. The back entrance is just for you. Part of a two level Victorian 4plex. The apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms plus two living/dining room spaces. Your living/dining room area is semi-private because I will be walking through occasionally to use the kitchen. See pics. The only shared space with me is the kitchen. No laundry in unit, but there is a laundry mat behind the building that’s only a 2 min walk. (Rinse laundry delivery picks up here too) There is private parking at the back of the house that is hidden from the street thats just for you. Your bedroom and living/dining room come unfurnished. On our street a few houses down there is a neighborhood outdoor space with picnic tables, grill, fire pit, basketball court, grassy areas, & playground. Fine print stuff: 1 year lease with the option to renew. Rent includes parking, water, & trash. PG&E + Sonic Fiber internet are split with me. We also split the cost of kitchen cleaning supplies.
