Bright 11' x 17' furnished room with south- and west-facing windows, two closets, queen Stearns & Foster hybrid bed, mahogany dresser, nightstand, desk/chair, shelving, and mini fridge. The larger closet offers plenty of storage plus a small concealed hobby/office area. Shared upstairs bathroom, with downstairs bathroom also available. $1,300/month + $1,300 deposit. One-year minimum preferred.

Located on a quiet, safe Alameda street near the lagoon, within a few blocks of South Shore Shopping Center, Alameda Beach, Park Street, restaurants, parks, buses, and other amenities. SF bus is about a 12-minute walk; ferries and Fruitvale BAART are biking distance. Street parking is plentiful.

We're a friendly, creative household and prefer a housemate 40+, though compatibility matters most. All ethnicities and gender identities are welcome, including LGBT/POC housemates. Overnight guests are okay up to two nights per week. We have one friendly hypoallergenic cat, Leila, so unfortunately no additional pets.

The property has a large garden with 20 fruit trees, a pond, gazebo/outdoor living area, gardening and project spaces, and areas for growing food. Gardeners or anyone interested in learning are especially welcome.

We cook frequently and enjoy occasional shared meals, BBQs, gardening workshops, and gatherings. The household currently includes:
K (72), a semi-retired sushi chef
J (67), an artist, gardener and antiques seller
D (53), a lighting designer
T (37), a paralegal/sociology student newly arrived from L. A.

The house has three bedrooms upstairs and two converted rooms downstairs. One of the downstairs rooms is used by J as her small hair studio. The upstairs bathroom is shared, and the downstairs bathroom is also available when needed. We're social but relaxed and enjoy cooking, gardening, travel, creative projects, and celebrating holidays.

Rent includes all utilities, Xfinity/WiFi, laundry, paper goods, coffee, and homegrown fruit/produce. Tobacco-free home. *20 friendly.

Available October 1. Creative people, gardeners, artists, performers, musicians, dancers, craftspeople, and other interesting humans would fit in well.
