Spare Room in Theodore, AL

This room is roughly 14’ by 14’, painted a beautiful dark blue just two and a half years ago. It’s joined by its own closet space as well as a full bathroom immediately across the hall. It’s near the wi-fi for the house, so no worries about your connection failing! It also has its own AC window unit so you can adjust the temperature for yourself as you like. The house itself has a water heater, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a dryer all less than three years old, as well as an indoor and garage fridge, and a block freezer in the garage too.

The property received an upgrade just a few years ago with a brand new metal roof, as well as refurbished pillars for the front porch area. There are no plans currently for further renovations, but as the homeowner I would be open to you adjusting your room to your preference within reason. The front yard is open with a few trees, while the backyard is enclosed by wooden fences on either side, and thick brush and a chain link fence at the back. The backyard itself is several hundred square feet, with enough room that our previous roommate had several garden plots at one point. The location is near enough to reach the Bellingrath Gardens within a 15 minute drive, and the neighborhood is mostly quiet— the loudest thing we hear is a train when one happens to pass through a few miles away. There has never been trouble with our neighbors outside of a stray dog or two, and they’ve always been happy to interact with us.

As far as Mobile goes, it is a ten minute drive to Tillman’s Corner, or I-10, and from there typically twenty to thirty minutes to anywhere in Mobile. I haven’t timed it specifically, but it’s about a thirty minute drive to Dauphin Island as well.

My spouse and I, 26 and 29 respectively, are looking for a new roommate as our current one is going back home after a long stay. We are members of the LGBT+ community, and are friendly. We have one well-behaved dog and cat and are open to prospective roommates bringing their own animals, and are child free. My spouse suffers from chronic pain and does not move very much at the moment, and I work somewhat odd hours, so typically much of the house is empty. We have no issue with a somewhat messier roommate, but we will not be cleaning up after you with the exception of dishes. On the other hand, I cook regularly and will be happy to include a portion for you if you have an interest! We have a standing Dungeons and Dragons night on Friday, and Saturday I normally cook dinner just for myself and my spouse, but otherwise the house is free for your use. If you are planning a gathering, please discuss it with us in advance, but anything smaller than four people will most likely be fine. Pictures of the property coming soon!
